  • Ben Simmons: Future Point Guard?

    Straight from Brett Brown:

"I think the point-guard position is the hardest position to play in the NBA as a first-year player, let alone as a person that's played a four man his whole life," Brown said. "He would be all over the place. It seems quite reckless to do it, almost unfair. I hope to continue to be ambitiously creative at tapping into what he really can do, and in my heart of hearts I think he can do it."

Similar to LeBron James, Simmons is unusually mobile for his large frame. At 6'10", 240lbs he will be a major matchup issue, especially if Philly finds a large SG who can knock down shots and finish at the bucket.

Ross would be a good fit for that team. It makes me wonder what held up the Noel discussions.

What held up the discussions was masai trying to complete destroy colangelo in a deal instead of letting everybody win lol

I guess my biggest concern on Ben being a point guard is on the defensive end and the better one's have enough range to score themselves. That is a skill Ben lacks with out a doubt.

What's happened in summer league is they've paired him with a scoring PG. So Ben plays facilitator and on defense can match up better.

He did have seven turnovers last game but running the floor isn't easy for a rookie.

Keeping in mind he's only 19, are you saying he is incapable of developing a long range shot?
