  • Is Kobe on His Way to Being the G.O.A.T or Just a Goat?

If Kobe and his fellows lakers can pull out back to back dubs at home, he will have 5 titles, a 5-2 record in the finals and two titles sans Shaq. He won't be at Jordan's level yet, but his ascent will be fast and furious as he appears to have several great to very good years left.

If they lose one of the next two games, Kobe will be stuck at four, have a 4-3 finals record and will have lost 2 of the last 3 finals when he was far and beyond the best player in the series.

I don't really have a vested interest in this finals, but I have thoroughly enjoyed it. I have been cheering against Kobe in every series previous to the finals and have found myself gravitating towards the Celtics mainly because of Rondo. If the Celtics lose the next two games, no big deal. They have been playing on borrowed time and most people had them losing to Miami over a month ago.

If Kobe wins, the Lebron debate will be buried for at least another year, if he loses it reopens a crack and his reputation as a champions champion takes a significant hit. Jordan never lost a finals, Kobe will have lost nearly half the time.

Will winning elevate his legacy more than losing will deflate it?

the thng is even if he passes jordan he's lost finals and he's never retired and gone into other stuff and thne come back you know.

unless, he wins 10 titles he'll never be at jordans level.
