Another very slow start to raptors shooting, but even worse shooting from Phoenix bench allowed the raptors to take this game. I'm really not sure about the lineup of jose-bargs-kleiza-reggie-DD as starters. They just really lack chemistry, fail to find each other and make plays, and have some pretty shit terrible defense. The other lines play much better with each other, have much better defense and play making, along with scoring. Hopefully triano realizes this and can make some adjustments.

I'm not sure if we were watching a different game, but they were the ones who turned this game around with good defense and nice play making.. It wasn't bad shooting, they finished with the game with 45 percent shooting; Raptors earned this win.

It was nice to see Bargs hitting his shots and Amir Johnson looked dominant on the glass. Jarett Jack has earned the starting job on this team and Jay really needs to start putting guys on with the line they are going to be play with. The line should be Jarett, DD, Kleiza, Amir, Bargs. Evans also had a great game today, didn't take the bad shots we've been seeing from him and cleared the paint well.
One thing that sort of takes the wind out of my sails is Phoenix has no post presence to speak of. Lopez only played 11 minutes and when he was in we were losing. I am concerned about our size this season, we are very small up front compared to a lot of teams. Also, while it was great to see Bargs find his stroke, he looked lost on defense, worse than usual actually.

I'm actually shocked to say this, but I think both Calderon and Evans should start. I know, Evans is a black hole offensively and everytime Calderon takes a shot, everyone in the arena thinks "One of these HAS to go in eventually", but right now, their value on the trade market is zero and if you start them and if then can at least give you an effort like this (Evans with his rebounding and Calderon with his "Game Management"), you can drive up their value for a trade later in the season. Also, at least the starting lineup is defined with this 5. Bargnani, DeRozan and Klieza handle the offence, Evans handles interior D and the boards and Calderon handles bringing up the ball without turning it over.

(BTW, I love the term Game Manager in Football, where it described an old white QB who can't make any plays like Kerry Collins or Trent Dilfer. I think it's perfect term for Jose Calderon.)

          Nice hockey game wasn't it

I still dont understand what Reggie is doing in the starting five. At best he is a sub to be brought in to stir things up and lends nothing to the offense including putbacks.

As long as the Raptors play teams who also lack size, they will be ok.

However, when they play teams with size

I heard Sherman Hamilton say in the 4th Q that this line up:

                Bargnani
                Evans
                Kleiza
                DeRozan
                Claderon

is the most likely the final preseaon starting line up for 2010-11...smh

Phoenix is actually looking really bad inside no wonder they want Dampier. Barg's hit his shots today but his defense, effort, hustle was still atrocious.

I really wish the raptors would stick to their man

SO many shots could have been avoided if they kept to their man instead of double teaming a pick or penetration

I personally would like to see barbosa, DD, kleiza, bargs, amir start because calderon in my eyes is a scrub he really hurts this team defensively, I hate his game. jack is a back up point guard. all toronto needs is someone to bring up the ball, there is nothing calderon or jack is doing that is so special that one of them needs to be on the court IMO the offensive sets are good enough that DD barbosa or kleiza can run them.

I just hate watching bargs dribble and spot up for 20 footers over his man and making a few...it just means hes going to keep doing it......were just never going to win with a big man doing that....

and im also starting to think DeRozan isnt getting better...
