Going young doesn't guarantee that it will land better players than DD/Lowry/Gay but it certainly brings a much higher ceiling for a fraction of the cost. My scenario basically hits the reset button on the salary cap after one year, and they potentially get a bunch of young elite talent in the process. I'd much rather do that then wait another year, hoping and praying that everything goes right, just for the Raps to sneak into the first round and get murdered by Miami... only to have no way else to improve again next summer.
