I don't care who it came from, it still got leaked..kind of missing the point.
I think the point is our ship is tight, it's the ships we talk to that have the leaks

Yes, so then Ujiri and Co. can't keep shit quiet. As much as they keep their ship tight, the other ships will leak. So, then by default raps can't keep their ship from leaking...

If you have two ships in a lake and one is leaking it does not mean the other one is leaking. If your basement floods, it does not mean that mine has. It just means that the expensive vintage porn collection I kept stored in your basement is now ruined. I guess where I am going with this is that you owe me $57,900 dollars.

Actually, you're missing the point. The source of the leak matters a great deal because each party has an agenda. By never leaking anything themselves, Toronto is keeping their agenda completely unknown. This is what matters because it gives them more negotiating power as teams will struggle to piece together their strategy.

So because the Knicks, Clippers, and Pistons leaked information about discussions, this means that no talks could be had without information being leaked? How do the Spurs regularly make moves that were never talked about publically?

There are well run franchises that do manage to keep their discussions quiet....the Knicks are easily not one of them (both in being well-run and keeping things quiet).

Also, most teams prefer to keep major discussions quite quiet. Sometimes they can't do anything about it, because a player has too big a profile...like Melo, Dwight, or even Harden...so that everyone knows a separation may be coming. But most of the time, teams like to keep things quiet, and thus like dealing with teams that do the same.

The other point that nobody has made is that sometimes there is benefit from deliberately leaking a story. Doing so can increase interest in a particular player (real or perceived), creating competition for him and thus increasing his trade value. For me, the problem isn't that there was a leak, but more to do with what types of things are being leaked and how often the leaks are publicized. When internal team details are becoming public knowledge at an alarming rate, then there's a problem. When a particular trade discussion is leaked at a strategic time, which increases your leverage at the bargaining table... not so much.

Wouldn't any GM worth their salt see right through shit like that.

There are a fair amount of bad GMs though, too.

You'd think so, but look at the Bargnani trade rumors that were swirling - first the Clips, then the Knicks. I think a team that is generally tight-lipped, like MU seems to be, could be the greatest benefactors of leaking strategically, especially if the other team has no reason to believe the Raptors are the source of the leak. Who knows, maybe MU leaked the Clips interest in Bargnani via one of his underlings, to improve his leverage with the Knicks? With so much going on, I doubt every GM can follow-up every rumored story.

I believe Ujiri is seen as playing the Nets off of the Knicks during the Melo trade to increase Melo's value. I don't remember the source but it mentioned that just before the trade there were rumours along the lines of "Melo to the Nets imminent' I'm not saying Ujiri leaked anything, but it would suggest that stuff like that is possible.

Can someone point me towards a thread or post that identifies what Landry Fields is doing this summer besides his butt chin finance?

And I also believe that Ujiri has a very tight ship. That and a very trustworthy staff.

I don't care what Landry Fields does this summer as long as he comes back with 40% corner 3pt shooting.

That's the point I'm trying to figure out? Is he actually working on his shot? We all know what everyone else on the roster is, and has been working on. I don't know what was mentioned about Landry regarding working on his shot.

As far as I know, media wise, he could be sitting on his ass playing COD.
