12mpg is now about the same as 17mpg?
Considering there are 48 minutes in a game? Yes

Both guys were like 8th or 9th off the bench for their teams.

You have absolutely no argument, WHY is Ross better than Daye right now? I'm waiting for a reasonable, well though out answer.

One player is a 4-year veteran forward playing 12 MPG (over 55 games), the other is a rookie SG who played 17 MPG (over 73 games) - Ross had much less experience, played in 33% more games and played nearly 50% more per game. I think it's safe to say that stats - especially projected stats that estimate production over doubled (Ross) or tripled (Daye) playing time - are effectively useless.

All things considered, I think you'd be hard pressed to find a single coach in the league that would pick Daye over Ross straight-up today, either to suit up tomorrow or 3 years from now.

Having said that, I was disappointed with Ross last season and hope he gets more consistent playing time to develop this season. I'm also happy with the Daye signing for deep SF depth.

      • Anyway, if i'm Ujiri i would rather sign a CANADIAN in Kris Joseph to be their 5th wingman instead of Daye.

If i'm Ujiri I would sign players based on their talent, upside/potential, ability to fill a role etc...also it would be cool if that person was Canadian, but not necessary

No one should ever sign a player simply because of their nationality.
You come at the King, you best not miss.

Yup. By this logic we'd have Kabongo and Kris Joseph right now, both of whom suck

I hope that is next on Leiweke's agenda.

Get some commentators that don't cause me to watch the game on mute from 6minutes in the first quarter onwards.

I think what ppl are trying to say is there no reason why Ross should be guaranteed minutes. The fact is that Daye had proven to be more of contributor in the NBA so far. You say that wait till Ross gets consistent minutes but if you think about it Daye has only gotten consistent minutes once in his 4 year. That was his sophomore year and he produces pretty decently.

                                Dude just stop.

It's perfectly fair to compare the %s and per 36 numbers of two players who get about the same amount of playing time in similar roles (Daye and Ross).

Of course Durant and LBJ are gonna shoot lower %s from 3, they almost always take contested shots. Mike Miller meanwhile is a career 41% 3PT shooter with over 1400 made threes, ridiculous to compare his resume to Daye's

You're just grasping for straws because you have no real argument for why Daye isn't better than Ross right now. Give me some concrete evidence for why Ross is the better player other than your crappy eye test. You're not an NBA scout.
