We get a centre to help Valanciuna, Johnson, Hansborough inside. We have an extremely gritty and tough front court. We also get prospects in Thompson and Barnes. Golden State gets Gay who is a starter for them and they also get Gray to compensate for the loss of Bogut and also Acy who is a prospect.

I'm of the view that you can't have too many solid 4/5s. JV and Bogut should battle for minutes. Same with Amir and Tyler. Also, on really good teams, they're all bench players. None deserve starting minutes unless they show they deserve them.

Golden State would never do this deal. It's not even remotely close to being a good deal for them. They lose their starting center and two young, high potential wing players to acquire Gay, who wouldn't even improve their team since they already have two guys who can pour in 20+ppg in Curry and Lee. They'd lose the spacing they get from Thompson, have an even weaker bench with Barnes gone, and have a lower ceiling as a team. 0% chance.
