He's done such a good job as general manager, but its also nice that we have such a good person and role model working for our franchise. Its not always the most important thing for me as a fan but its just nice to have someone who we can be proud of for representing the organization the right way (and I do think in the long run that helps the team with free agency and other recruitment)

CTV's video on the news tonight includes some parts of an interview with the kids - you can see how much they think this means to them.

Most of them have never left that isolated small northern Saskatchewan community. Couldn't imagine how cool that would be.

Sounds like this was all masai, not some MLSE pr stunt. The guy makes positive differences in this world.

I definitely agree than BC deserves way more respect for this team than he's getting...he was a quick trigger man that made some brutal mistakes (the euro movement, Bargnani, TJ Ford & Hibbert for O'neal, Hedo, Fields contract) BUT he was the man that drafted JV, Ross & Derozan (and signed him to a steal of n extension), Signed & extended Amir, traded for Lowry & hired coach Casey. this core of this team is still him, what Masai did was all the stuff BC couldn't like finally let go & move on from Bargnani, get cap relief, draft picks & a solid bench around the core.
uh and you know...make lowry actually a legit star pg.

The Raptors, and we, are lucky to have a quality guy like Masao involved in the franchise. I hope he stays for a long time.

This is MU's team now. He's cast the die and we need to compete in this window.

Resigning Lowry and Ibaka are musts. Adding shooting would be ideal.

We've taken aim at the Lebrons. His tenure is judged on whether we take them down. We've loosed our warning shot.

Masai's biggest fish ever. We knew he could Make value trades, he's never traded assets for a bigger fish.

All hail the God. Blackberry stocks shooting up!

From the ringer.com's article on the trade...

The Winner: Masai Ujiri. The first rule of Masai Ujiri Club is never talk to Masai Ujiri. He is only going to make you look bad. From the producers of Carmelo, for Everything and Holy Crap, He Got Out From Under Bargnani comes the latest heist picture that’s poised to jump-start the trade-deadline box office. Ujiri wanted Ibaka last summer, but stepped away from the Storage Wars sale when the reported asking price of Cory Joseph, Norman Powell, Patrick Patterson, and Toronto’s pick (the ninth spot) was too steep. So he waited, watched Orlando’s season stall out, and wound up getting his man for a song. That’s good general managing!

Ujiri does not blink first in trade negotiations:

Remember the shock, horror and outrage when Masai extended Ross to that ridiculous $33M contract. Neither do I.

Masai has a peculiar giggle/laugh that I'd like to hear right now.

Funny day at The Star too, Bruce Arthur was tweeting Ibaka wasn't happening (per sources), Feschuck's column just yesterday entirely focused on premise the Raps were standing pat @ the deadline this year, then there's Doug Smith who didn't write anything in particular but he does have an omlette for a face at this point. "Everything is fine" will become "See, I told you" in very short order as he pounds out his next mailbag between baskets of onion rings.

Ibaka was a lock as soon as the guys at the Star started writing that it wasn't happening. Not anything against the Star in particular, but TO beat writers are seemingly always the last to know anything - because they only have team sources, not league sources, and Ujiri's front office is leak proof.
