Landry tonight did what Landry had to do, which was neutralize Joe Johnson. The problem is that on offense, Brooklyn were actually still sort of bothering to guard him. At some point, they'll figure out they don't have to.
Great because Landry will then cut to the basket if they leave him open

Hopefully no one in Brooklyn reads this board!

But seriously though, standing ovation for Fields. I thought he would do a respectable job defensively. I did not expect him to lock down Johnson like that. At least it forces both teams to grind it out.

Not any more so than Salmons, as others have pointed out.

Also, Landry is one of the best at cutting to the net. If they leave him and forget about him he's gonna get several backdoor layups, bank on it.

I hope this can help jumpstart/resurrect the guy's career. He can play a role in the NBA.

Fields played great but that's in comparison to TRoss and Salmons at the 3.Positive is that Miami and BKN are the same in terms of strength weaknesses.

If its going to be a slow grind it out series with Brooklyn...I say throw Fields into the starting spot if Ross doesnt show up for game 3. Or at least be quicker to put him out there

I like Laundry as a bench SF. Hope he sticks around in a Raps uniform. At the very least he becomes a -cheap- defensive specialist who is good in the locker room.

I like him off the bench. He's still an offensive liability but him and Patterson on the floor together makes sense. And he's great whenever we need to protect a lead.

                          • He was definitely so crucial to our win tonight. If he didn't come in and play that clutch defense on PP and JJ, we could very well have lost the game. He also switched out on Williams a few times, and he did a remarkable job on him.

                            Great decision by Casey.
I know this may be a bit controversial but I think the Raptors have proven that they're the best team in the NBA from Canada

He's worth over $30 million before his 26th birthday and he's married to a supermodel. I'd be surprised if he DIDN'T believe in God.

Starting Landry is an interesting idea.

If we start Landry to match up with Joe Johnson, Terrence could actually be a bit of a spark coming off the bench. All of a sudden he is being guarded by one of their bench guys (Anderson or Thornton, for example, as opposed to Livingston or Johnson) and he might start to get it going a bit. I don't see Terrence having a huge impact when he has to work really hard on defence, and then can't really get any rhythm taking tough jumpers on offence.

If we find a way to get Ross going, it could be huge. I feel as if our guys haven't really been on the same page yet, firing on different cylinders. All our main rotation guys need to contribute.
