  • We The North or We "Are" The North?

OKC Thunder has the "We Are Thunder" campaign. The LA Clippers now has the "We Are One" campaign. The Warriors warm-up shirts have "We Are Loud. Proud. Warriors."

Who came up with the "We The North" moniker? Was there a particular reason to drop the "Are"? The "Are" is too long? An attempt to be cool?

I think it's a play on the National Anthem. We stand on guard for thee.

    We.
    The North.

eh......I don't know, they had to do something and they probably only had a day and a half to come up with it.

            We.
            The North.
Not sure about the National Anthem reference. If "True North" was used, then I could see the reference.

            O Canada!
            Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.

With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!

            From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

There's no comma on t-shirts, signage, hastag, etc.

Pretty sure when they say it, they have a pause after "We"

Might not be a comma, since it would look stupid in the signage/hashtag/t-shirts, but it's said that way.

It's more catchy, simple as that.

As a RR collective, we should complain about the playoff layoff... #WeTheBored

Apparently the "We are One" campaign is League Wide:

Heard on the radio we're going to take off our warm ups tonight too.
                          "Bruno?
Heh, if he is in the D-league still in a few years I will be surprised.
                          He's terrible."

At this point I think it'd be best just to play basketball and move on from this. Sterling has been reprimanded to a severe degree. No point in taking more attention away from the game.
