    Or if DD is traded.

Assuming the salary cap reaches $70M by 2016-17.....

Cap holds of $20M for TR and JV
    Resign Lowry for $10M
$19M for the rest of the roster (ideally a lot of productive rookie contracts) and minimum cap holds of to reach 13 roster spaces.

30% of cap would be $21M and max starting year salary.
Are you even capable of entering a thread without talking about trading DeRozan?

Too early. 3 summers away. It's Kevin Durant, lots of teams will go after him. For all we know it will be the Warriors, Clippers, Celtics, Nets or some other team not your list, I don't see what makes the Raptors so much more attractive than the Warriors.

We will see what happens. But if we have a solid core, I still think it's great if they can manage to create some significant capspace. Guys like Horford and Batum should be free agents as well. And you might be able to get those guys both for the price of one Durant (roughly).

Take a look on how much Rogers spent on Toronto FC and Jays, you should know they don't really care how much money they will pay even higher than the cap, only if (they think)you have a chance to win.

A lot if teams are capped out.The ones that varent are rebuilding.Toronto may have the most attractive cap structure heading into 2016. Our most expensive player will be Lowry

Literally every single NBA franchise has max cap room in summer 2016. That will change because teams will sign other players, not every team is after Durant. But we have no clue who will pursue Durant yet. Any team can have enough room to make him an offer. And it's Durant, not Iguodala, teams will clear cap space if necessary.

Cap space arguments just aren't very relevant when talking about Durant. Maybe in 2010 they would be more relevant. But the days when most teams are over cap for years and years are over.

edit: is that because the original was bosh? d'oh

There is something to be said for good timing.
