    • I think Mario Chalmers could've been a good get for us. Good on defense except against the Spurs, underrated floor general. And cheap, especially if we didn't get/trade/or doesn't produce Lou Williams.

I know that last part doesn't make sense, but yeah

      • woah 5 mill a year for a guy thats 36 and can only usually play 15 minutes a game as an energy guy
what has the nba come to this offseason
the summer of the role player

meeks gets $6.5 mill a year after being a minimum player
        Ben gordon gets $5 mill
        jordan hill gets $9 mill
        marvin williams gets $7 mill
        chandler parsons gets $16 mill

mark my words, GMs are going to be throwing first rounders away with these guys soon cause these people don't deserve that money

i think, except for parsons, those are all two year deals. which means next year they are large expirings for teams looking to shed salary. i think what we are seeing is the gms adapting to the new cba. signing the core to longer fairer deals and the rest to short term deals that keep them above the floor and below the tax.

teams like detroit won't want to pay 90 million in taxes unless they are completely bananas. next year they are taxed higher, and higher. so the easiest way for them to get under is to pay 9 million for jordan hill from next years deadline or draft and make sure their books are set for july tax season.

that is why philli is grabbing everyone. if they have to pay the floor anyway why not fill it up with people for a couple years you can then trade for more youth. those tax teams won't want cap holds or guaranteed first rounders on their rosters either.

Ah, right, I forgot he was cleared of having sex with the teenager.

That's still a huge amount for a mediocre at best player
It was attempted extortion/blackmail on child porn.

                  • And so u thought Salmons couldn't cut it anymore? Signing a 2mill/1 yr deal with the Pelicans (according to Stein). Casey must be going "Damn!".

Being a capped out team with no bench = 2M for Salmons. Glad it isnt us.

                      • Am I reading this right?

"Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey has high praise for the Dallas Mavericks' front office and former forward Chandler Parsons. Compliments aside, there's a reason Houston declined to match the Mavs' offer to Parsons. "The contract (Parsons) got...the Mavericks are a smart organization; they obviously wanted to get him...that structure of that (contract) is literally one of the most untradeable structures I've ever seen," Morey told KBME-AM 790 in Houston."

With dripping sarcasm Morey is one pissed gm.

I like that move for NOLA.. they have a lot of young talent. Could definitely use a veteran with good attitude in the locker room.

                            • Pistons got Caron Butler for 2 years $10 million and DJ Augustin for 2 years $6 million.

At this point I don't really think it even matters the number associated with these 2 year deals (Jordan Hill $18 million, Vasquez $13) it's so obvious teams are setting themselves up for free agency 2 years from now, or in conjunction with the new TV deal. Even big name players like Lebron and Deng have signed 2 year deals, in addition to Kobe's 2 year deal starting next year.

Except they probably won't have a coach that plays him over 20 mpg.
