Im sure he's already picked out a PF from the Basketball without Borders program lol
I know this may be a bit controversial but I think the Raptors have proven that they're the best team in the NBA from Canada

So true, and a kid who played CIS ball is playing for 2 Summer League teams this Summer.
Also it wasn't so long ago that our hopes were riding on " if Matt Bonner could get his Canadian citizenship " or Samual can just forget about his fight and with Leo and Canada basketball

Kevin Pangos playing for Mavs and so cross that name for Pan Am games but don't understand why Raps didn't extend a invite ? Last year two Canadians didn't get drafted and also weren't invited ...

Raps don't want to be perceived as welfare for Canadian ballers. Nor should they.

Congrats to Canadians: Jordan Bachynski, Dallin Bachynski and Phillip Scrubb on being named to the Toronto Raptors Summer League Roster!

          • Did Cory Joseph mention directly today that, yes, he will be suiting up at FIBA Americas in September?

He said he was hoping to but had to sort some stuff out first. No specifics.

I could see these guys getting DLeague offers for the 905ers if none break out and actually make the team.

Scrubb would be such a cool story if he somehow just blew away Summer League and went HAM.

Hopefully Corey can get it together to play in Mexico. Not to wax nostalgic about FIBA Americas (brutal schedule + bad refs) but this 2015 tournament in Mexico is the last time it means anything. In future FIBA Americas becomes a stand alone tournament not a qualifier for the Olympics or the FIBA World Cup so NBA player involvement in future is unlikely.

... future continental championships, like EuroBasket and FIBA Americas, which will become stand-alone tournaments without any direct qualification for the Olympics or World Cup, as they have currently.
The revamped global calendar for the sport will see games scheduled during the NBA season, likely ensuring that the top tier of players will be unavailable for their national teams.
FIBA has mapped out four annual windows when such contests would take place: in November, February, June and September, with provisionally two games, one each at home and on the road, in each period.

                        • Dwight Powell lighting it up at summer league. Pangos is a teammate.

                          • I think Powell's got a real shot at getting to the NBA rotation level... maybe not out of training camp but soon. Their roster is a bit of a mess following the Jordan fiasco, plus Carlisle is already being impressed and comfortable with Powell from the time he spent in the rotation (mostly due to injury) last season, plus Dallas may finally be realizing that they can only tread water for so much longer with their habit of trading away every prospect they get.

                            • I was thinking of Powell and the more immediate future: Mexico in September.
