and now we've more than enough evidence to suggest that Casey can't take us any further. normally when you've taken something as far as it will go, you make a change. Casey is not good enough for what we want the raptors to become.
Well Masai sure believe enough in Casey to give him multiple chance. I think you get your series victory this year. Stay tuned.

It's basketball. Most teams make the playoffs
Tell that to the Timberwolves, Kings, Orlando and Detroit who are on some serious streaks right now

It simple math 16 out of 30 make the playoffs every year 14 out of 30 don't. Hence most make the playoffs

        • Winning consistently is not easy in the NBA. Getting better 4 straight years isn't heard of it.

Only 2 above .500 and in years where more than half the conference was below

Why did it take half a decade to get back in the playoffs? Since its so easy?

Raptors along with the TWolves and Bobcats are historically bad NBA franchises. Playing in the same city as the Leafs and until recently the Blue Jays hid just how bad they were

I bet those teams would have paid big money to switch places with the Raps and join the Titanic division - especially the last 2 years.

Evolution of a raptor fan. Before Casey we were just hoping to get in the playoffs. Now making the playoffs is excepted.
Well with this roster of course it's expected. Things change in sports; rosters and expectations for example.

                      Because the franchise is shit!

                      Lol

                      You're hilarious dude.

First thing Masai said when hired is making the playoffs is not a big deal - over half of league makes them.

Getting a lottery pick was harder than getting into the playoffs. Especially in the 2014 Draft year

Absolutely correct. Just ask Portland. If securing high-end talent was so easy, you wouldn't see NBA Billionaire owners lined up with their begging-bowls in July. (I think It's awesome! )

But Casey has been a big part of building something here in Toronto and, one assumes, attracting talent ... and likely will be until we enter the 2016 "begging-bowl" period. This is still true even if some simply can't imagine (a single reason!) why Masai thinks that now isn't the right time to replace our coach - and so are incensed by the situation.

So Casey's still got time on his "clock" and new talent to work with (that he personally helped recruit). So we'll see what we see... "All the best."

But the absolute easiest thing, though? Being an armchair GM. No one's ever smarter. Fun, too, right?

Raptors, TWolves and Bobcats are the only teams never to have had realistic chances of even reaching a conference final in most peoples lifetimes. TWolves because they are in the West and Bobcats because they are new. Raptors because they flat out suck

That teams have to tank - and their fans even lobby for it - just shows you how hard it is to work your way up in the NBA. Kinda' sad ... but so obviously true.

The Raptors are sill on the upswing, though (with the core, the picks, the prospects, recent additions, the recent success, and the ability to manipulate the roster to accommodate new talent financially, etc.). So - if for no other reason - I'll give Masai the benefit of the doubt. And that includes his decision as regards Casey. As has already pointed out, the 2016 FA is going to be freakishly interesting for Raps fans. But for now, I'm excited about watching the 2015/16 edition, in advance of that pleasure to come.

Charlotte is that much younger than the raps
