  • Getting that Backup C

    Remaining C worth the look

Ekpe Udoh - Previous Team - Milwaukee Bucks - UFA
    - I like his game a lot, a good shot blocker, could potentially become Bebe's mentor, a decent backup C but the price could be too high for us to take him

Emeka Okafor - Previous Team - Phoenix Suns - UFA
    - A great rebounder, would be an ideal backup C behind Val, however he may ask for more money

Nazr Mohammad - Previous Team - Chicago Bulls - UFA
    - Aging veteran, decent rebounder and shot blocker, plays tough defense, if all the Cs are gone, we can look at him, perhaps a one year service before he retires

Bernard James - Previous Team - Dallas Mavs - UFA
    - Young center, tough rebounder but he may ask for more money

Ryan Hollins - Previous Team - LA Clippers - UFA
    - Young center, decent shot blocker, could be our new Aaron Gray

Elton Brand - Previous Team - Atlanta - UFA
    - Veteran PF/C, great rebounder, better than Chuck Hayes but he may want to play for a championship calibre team and get a ring before he retires

    Last but not Least
Andre Blatche - Previous Team - Brooklyn - UFA
    - The controversy in the past one month is to get a backup C in Blatche, is he asking for too much $, only Masaii Ujiri can make that final decision.

So there it is, I would be happy if we get one of Blatche, Udoh, Okafor, or Mohammad as our backup C

I'm still hoping for Blatche. We would officially be the deepest team in the east.

Pretty clear at this point Masai is looking for a PG for that last spot, not a C.

        Remaining PG who's affordable

        1) Toney Douglas - No team wants this garbage player but he can be our John Lucas III, at least he can score better than Dwight Bycks

        2) Shelvin Mack - A defensive minded player who can be a good backup behind Lowry and Vazquez

        3) Toure Murry - Surprised everyone at the Summer League, worth the look

        4) Peyton Siva - Played great in NCAA but diminished as a Pistons, could be picked up by a NBA team

        5) Earl Watson - veteran presence, could be our John Salmons this year

        6) Brandon Mettler - veteran guard for Johannesburg, South Africa. Masaii Ujiri is there in the summer

        7) David Cubillan - great venezuelan guard who plays with Vazquez in the team, could be a good pick up

        8) Will Cherry - Summer league surprise

            Why not I'll bite.

            1. You dont like him yourself, why would Masai.

            2. Already signed with atlanta.

            3. I haven't seen much of him but my favorite out of the names you mentioned.

            4. Seems like a bit of a chucker for a point guard.

            5. No thanks..

            6. Looked him up on Google, they know nothing about him.

            7. Already signed to a team in maccabi.

            8. Well thats leaves this guy, so pretty much one option in my opinion.

greg stiemsma, as i have said many times before and aaron kraft, again as i said many times before.

if not kraft then someone else equally young.

either vet big or young guard

Lets run with Mohammad. Especially if he comes cheap.

How much did they offer him? How much cap space do the raptors have left?

Terms were undisclosed when it was reported a couple weeks ago: http://www.slamonline.com/nba/report...gn-aaron-gray/ .

I can't find any more current information. Apparently no reporter's are knocking down doors to get to the bottom of Aaron Gray's contract status..
