Odds Demar Makes Team USA

I may be selfish but this is really a no lose situation for demar. If he makes it the experience will be great if not he will be rested.

Imo, 10/12 positions seem set:

Davis / Cousins
Durant / Faried
Thompson / Korver
Harden
Curry / Rose / Irving

Team USA will need to pick another wing from Parsons, DeMar, Hayward, Beal to replace George. As much as I want DeMar, I think Parsons gets that spot because of his shooting.

Not sure what direction they'll go for the 12th spot. Maybe an extra big (Drummond, Millsap, Plumlee)? An extra PG (Wall, Lillard)? If they decide to use a wing for the 12th spot, DeMar should be the pick.

Hopefully, DeMar finds a way onto the team. It would be well deserved.

Don't think cousins, faried or korver will make it IMO

Cousins seems to be out of favor in this group
faried is limited to hustle
Korver is limited to threes

I think plumlee will make it for some odd reason
Wall if they decide more 2 PG lineups/Millsap/Parsons if they decide to go bigger

One more wing and hopefully it is DeRozan :-) :-)

funnily enough i don't think it helps derozan's chances much though, as i think it opens up a big spot rather than wing. start durant at the three, play either millsap with davis at five, or davis at four with cousins as the five.

curry and thompson at guard spots, harden sixth man.

i don't think dd's game is as conducive to international play, at least not with so many (better) volume scorer's available. think they go more for role player's like korver to fill out the wing.

Fair points. Plumlee over Cousins wouldn't surprise me, but I figured Coach K would want Cousins for his bulk (even though Plumlee is a Duke guy). I think Faried and Korver will make it for that reason: they're specialists who do their role very well and will augment USA's core.

But, obviously, USA can't go wrong with picking guys like Millsap and Wall instead. Such an embarrassment of riches...

Cousins will start along side with Davis.

Durant at the 3, Harden at the 2 and probably Curry at the 1.

Irving, Rose, DD, Thompson, Millsap, Korver and Faried off the bench, may be even Plumlee, not a lot of size in that frontcourt.

They're deepest at point guard and Wall is the worst shooter amongst the group. He also didn't play great during the scrimmage on Friday.
