    Toronto Out: Chuck Hayes
    Toronto In: ?

Teams facing Memphis first or second round may need a ZBo stopper. Could be used to pry Terrence Jones or Batum

It's not watch the Grizz - Raps game. A lot of Western team are a first round exit against Memphis. They don't have 2 low post defenders to match both ZBo and Gasol

the part that felt like a joke is Chuck Hayes being the centre piece to land either Batum (not a ZBo stopper) or Terrence Jones

Not a centerpiece but a way to get value from Hayes. He isn't just an expiring contract. A team may pay to avoid a first round exit at the trade deadline depending on position. A lot of Western teams are really stuck in a series against Memphis and Hayes is better than Perkins.

It's not a stupid idea. OP never said Chuck for "good starting player" he simply mentioned that Raps can be sellers at the deadline for a team needing a back-up center.

Hayes isn't going to win you a championship, however his contract is a very reasonable 1 year 5 mil and he serves a purpose. Great team guy and can be called in to play 8 min trying to shut down other teams C.

Neat idea. Even if its something like a young PF.. why not?

he specifically mentioned Batum and Terrence Jones. Both are pretty decent starting players

Jones is third on the depth chart and Batum is an actual cap space problem. Portland needs to renegotiate all four starters while Batum is making 12M. And his offence has fallen off a cliff. Depending on SAS and OKC, either could be a first round exit but be able to get to the ECF if they can get past Memphis.

He's third because he's hurt. He was the starter when he was healthy, but yes he could easily be available.

Monteunias starts ahead of Smith. Even when he comes back it looks like he'll be behind Smith. Mont can also play C.

Jones might cost a bit more than just Chuck. On top of it how would salaries work? Esp we we have to add another piece?
As for Hayes: Did he not play for McHale already?
WRG Batum -great TEAM player. O might be down, but he is there to do whatever team needs to win. I'd jump at either, but I'm afraid wishful thinking.

I think the Rockets have TPE because of Asik and Lin. Chuck and Lou would help the Rockets who will probably drop behind the annual SAS late run and OKC eventually. Chuck, Lou and TH to Portland for Batum + filler esp with LMA out adding Lou to the bench helps.

I would trade Tyler Hansborough before getting rid of Hayes since Hayes is a great mentor for Valanciunas!
