It really is ridiculous how some of you take some of these advanced stats as the be all and end all without looking at much of the context that goes along with those stats. How many games and how many minutes has Fields played? He's been solid in the little playtime that we've seen of him but his role is so limited that all he's asked to do is defend and look pretty. You don't need stats to see that DD/Vasquez/Ross are just simply better and more impactful players who have all contributed more to our record being what it is now. I can't believe I'm even responding to this nonsense.
He may have looked solid to you, but not to me.

And we were outscored a ton while he was on the floor this year.
If we knew half as much about coaching an NBA team as we think, we"d know twice as much as we do.

      Post-concussion he was great.

After-concusssion he was meh. But that's to be expected.

By the way, thanks OP, it takes a lot of work to post in a second language. Does Spanish really call PG's pilots?

Point is that in no way shape or form should Fields be ahead of those those 3 players in the depth chart like one poster suggested here.

            Agreed... but he can play.

Honestly, I don't think GV was been inserted to be 'the solution' or the permanent starter.

The way I see it is Casey saw the team was slumping, the ball wasn't moving around enough, and Lowry was overworked trying to create on every possession. Even though having GV in the line-up hurts the team's perimeter defense, at least the team is playing more like a team, and Amir and JV are getting more touches.

Also, Ross really needed to be benched to give him a bit of a kick in the ass. The message to Ross is that he still needs to earn minutes because there is a perfectly good SF (JJ) waiting to take his job.

These are just baby-steps to break some bad habits developed while Demar was out. By the time the playoffs roll around Ross will probably be back in the starting line-up with JJ and GV coming off the bench.

Honestly, wtf is in people's heads. Before derozan went down this squad was killing teams, he's a HUGE part of their success. so, he comes back, and people think what.... its gonna be awesome immediately. It takes a long time to get back into it, as a player, and then, as a team.

But hey, last 6 games...... 6-0

Casey sucks, derozan sucks, Raptors suck, blow it up.

                  awesome mentality.

Toronto is who they are, they aren't elite yet, but they are very good. enjoy that they are better than they ever were, even when they arent as good as we ALL want them to be.

All this shit about the coach, the star..... its just that, shit.
6-0 against teams with a combined record of 106-167 (.388), and that includes Washington's winning record, every other team we beat is basically hot garbage. Wowzah, break out the champagne right!

I haven't seen anyone wanting to blow it all up, just take our very good team and replace our very mediocre coach with a better coach.

The Washington game was pretty annoying because we should have won convincingly in regulation, but we went full on iso shit offense in the 4th and nearly blew it. It looks like we revert to a prevent offense where we just dribble at the top of the key until there is almost no time left on the shot clock, then someone jacks up a contested 3. As if the goal of the possession was just to eat clock, rather than score. This repeats over and over until the lead is gone. Casey should be going apeshit on those guys to go back to moving the ball, which had been working all game long. Instead it seems like this is his designed 4th quarter offense. I don't know how you could be watching the games and not see this. If you looked at the box score you might just think "hey, Washington went on a run, it happens all the time", but when you watch the actual game you see that we gave them that run of a silver platter by deciding we weren't going to even attempt running an offense anymore, just dribble out the shot clock followed by bad shot.

Frustrated. That it what it means to be a Raptors fan. Has the new lineup been the spark that has lead to a 6 game winning streak? Does letting career back ups have career nights secretly play into the plan of limiting other scorers and leading us to victory? Or... has this current guard focused lineup allowed career back ups to have career nights and it's just a fluke that we're on a six game win streak because we could just as easily been 2-4? I feel that the latter in true.

Statistics without context however is problematic...wherever. It merely shows results. One stat I wouldnt argue with is W-L but would like to have balance even here as concerned with the W-Ls where the good teams were the opponent.

eg...the stats indicate that Lowry & DD have the worst of the ones shown but we know that contextually they play more minutes than others, are the 1st & 2nd options on offense most nights, probably draw the most defensive attention from the opposing teams and of course are starters while the others are essentially 2nd unit players (yes, GV & Ross have switched lately).

Thanks. So they're all net negative acording to that.

RPM has James Johnson is positive in both. Why isn't he starting?
