To everyone saying rebounding isn't the real issue, Paul Pierce is, I gotta just add: the two are 100% connected.
Paul Pierce did torch us pretty good. But one guy scoring 20 isn't that bad. The problem is that when you have HandsBro or Amir covering him, you not only can't defend him, you also give up rebounding by taking your bigs out of the paint.
My biggest beef with Casey is that he says "JJ can't play because what wing do you take out?" YOU DON'T TAKE OUT A WING, YOU TAKE OUT A PF.
Casey isn't losing any shooting by subbing JJ for Handsbro or Amir, and given that Pierce is stretching the floor, he's not losing any rebounding either.
That's the most frustrating part about Pierce to me.

Re: Paul Pierce at the four: "Finally, the lineups worked because the Raptors did not adjust despite having a readily apparent solution on their bench."
"The continued effectiveness of Pierce at power forward depends on Toronto not playing the obvious card in response. The magenta-haired James Johnson would seem to be the ideal candidate to match up with Pierce in such a situation. He’s quick enough to stay in front of Pierce or Porter, is a more than credible defensive rebounder and even provides a modicum of rim protection. Casey appears to see things differently, however."
