they are probably still on contract so they are obligated by that to stay on til the end of their contract. Thats what news articles are saying.

Had a feeling this was coming. Zach Lowe was writing some of his annual Simmons/Lowe columns by himself (no effort to replace Bill or rethink the format - just do the same thing but with only one of two guys there), Jalen and Jacoby weren't doing any graphics work on their podacsts at all, etc. Seemed like they were just putting in the 9 to 5 and waiting for the axe to drop. Grantland was a nice place where you actually had a bunch of writers who cared about sports and writing well.

I bet Bill tries to reassemble at least some of the gang somewhere.
