Ross+9 for Asik+6.
Was looking at their roster to see what else they could give us to even up the deal, then the more I looked at Asik, the more I realized it's not worth it..
Specifically players like: Chinanu Onuaku, AJ Hammonds, Gary Payton II, Jake Layman, Michael Gbiniji, Stephen Zimmerman, Malcolm Brogdon, (all mid second round picks) and maybe Brice Johnson (late first, early second). Looking at a couple of second round players makes some sense but to bring in 10-12 players for work-outs means the Raps are serious about a second round selection and I believe they fully expect to be picking a player in the second round.
If that's the case then I would say something like this might be possible
Ross+9 for to NOP for Asik +6 +39 +40
New Orleans does it because the Aski contract is terrible but for us he may be a good (albeit expensive) replacement for Scola/Bismack
Or even better
Ross + 9 to Houston for Terrance Jones (sign and trade) +37 +43
Houston does this because they don't have a first round pick and TJ is a restricted free agent. It would have to be done with "prior knowledge" because free agency happens after the draft.
Alternatively we could keep number 9 and just trade 27 for two second rounders.Last edited by myklk; Wed Jun 15, 2016, 12:49 AM.

NBA.com updated mock draft by Scott Howard-Cooper
Toronto Raptors
Jakob Poeltl | Utah | C | 7-0 | 235
College Highlights: Jakob Poeltl
Poeltl has the chance to put Austria on the NBA map after two seasons on the college fast track from unheralded recruit to possibly the first half of the lottery. Playing for former NBA big man Larry Krystkowiak at Utah, Poeltl has become what one executive described as a poor man's*Pau Gasol, with passing skills, the ability to play inside and a good feel for the game despite a relative lack of experience. He has been working to become a better scorer, but is the kind of worker who will put in the time to get better.
27. Toronto Raptors
Dejounte Murray | Washington | PG- SG | 6-5 | 170
He excels in transition, whether pushing the ball himself or running the wing and staying in attack mode. That is comes through at 170 pounds is especially appealing to front offices that expect him to fill out and get stronger. Poor shooting is the problem. Murray made just 41.6 percent of his attempts overall and 28.8 percent of his threes.@Chr1st1anL

One with a teammate who did him a favour and the other with the much maligned Billy's king....
Maybe he can get something done in Cleveland..but he is going to have to offer something material as Cleveland isn't up against it money wiseLast edited by Demographic Shift; Wed Jun 15, 2016, 10:04 AM.There's no such thing as a 2nd round bust.
