Human nature at its finest. When somebody who knows a lot more about shit than we do says something we vehemently disagree with, we don't think " what am I missing?', we simply say "the guys an idiot".
Cause its not like the guy does it for a living or anything...

He was wrong. They got swept. ISO with LBJ =\= ISO with anybody on the roster. If an expert gives an opinion that in HINDSIGHT was completely stupid ignoring what actually happened is stupid

Yeah, you're right, should only accept financial advice from random posters on message boards. Their track record is so much better.
If we knew half as much about coaching an NBA team as we think, we"d know twice as much as we do.

You seem to have a problem separating correlation and causation.

You're talking about what happened , the actual past. ISO is the way to win playoff game -> played ISO, got completely crushed -> Eventual winners refused to go ISO won title over LBJ going ISO.

You don't need to look for correlation when you are talking individual games, you can just spend 48 min watching what happens. Looking for correlation-causation makes no sense for very specific situations and observable outcomes.

As great as Biyombo has been, I think we need to cut him loose this offseason. There's isn't room for all 3. We already know what Bismarck brings to the tabe. Bebe ceiling is completely unknown. He just cannot rot on the bench at 24 years old.

Also, while Biyombo is a better shot blocker, the eye test showed me great rim protection by bebe in his 3 game solid stretch. His severe length was altering every shot in the paint.

He'd probably still be productive right now but typical casey forgot all about him after the ankle sprain, and you can't reasonably expect a guy to get in a groove when hs playing 4 minutes as the 10th man.

Weltmann did not say ISO was the way to win playoff games.

Having a horrific perimeter D is a sure fire way to lose playoff games.

The one good thing about DC relying on Biyombo so heavily, especially if MU is confident in Bebe's ability to backup JV next season, is that his value is being driven up so much that there's practically no way he'll opt-in to his player option.

                      who says he knows more?

                      That is completely unvalidated.

and furthermore...pretty sure the iso thing didnt work in the playoffs......

There is 0 chance anybody here knows more about the x's and o's of basketball than weltman.

People are blowing the iso balk comments way out of proportion. He's talking to the media when he said it, not behind closed doors with masai. They had neither the personnel nor the time to change the entire makeup of our offensive philosophy. What did everybody want him to say when asked about it? "We're completely screwed"? "Our team is a bunch of idiots"? "I dont know why we'd even bother to play"?

The front office sees all the warts and faults in our players. It helps nobody involved with the team to blab to the media about it, much less right before the playoffs.

both my posts where in humor.

                          but...

there is a chance that someone knows more about xs and os than weltman.....you cannot say for certainty that someone doesnt.

And in regards to what he said about iso....

He wasnt wrong, you can win with iso ball in the playoffs, just not with anyone on our team being that ISO guy....If it was MJ, or Lebron, Or Prime Kobe, or prime Wade then sure...

Demar and Lowry not a fucking chance.

Him being Executive Vice President is more validation than posting on a message board.

Getting massively out-rebounded, having our perimeter defence shredded (as had been happening for months) and a broken down Lowry may have had something to do with our playoff loss also.

One other point about Bebe - he may well be our best passing big other than JJ, as sad as that sounds.
