Yep. Absolutely hilarious. JV's been the Raps best player in this series(by a country mile). And the guy only took 7 shots. He made 6 btw.
28 mins to Demar's 33. (As an aside, DD being 0-0 from the line and shooting all those shots, that's a bad sign. If Demar isn't getting to the line... His game is incredibly inefficient)

      • Demar is gone this offseason. If Masai don't make it happen, he should be gone to.

So did Indiana adjust to whatever was working for us in game 2 when JV was beasting, or did we just go away from playing smart effective basketball and revert back to ISO hero-ball like we have done so all year?
            A bit of both

On defense, Indiana did a good job of forcing JV to switch onto the player setting the pick just before the PnR and Indiana did a good job of hitting that screen fast so we had no time to force them out of position. That way he wasn't able to help in paint or was chasing guys back into the paint to contest. Wasn't pretty how we didn't adjust to keep him in the paint to shut things down. Big reason why Indiana had a massive advantage of points scored in the paint

On offense, Indiana ran help from Scola or DD at will, and they literally body checked JV (like legit fouled him) on every roll so he couldn't get the lobs going to the basket like previous games. Even when Scola and DD weren't touching the ball they really really hurt us. Oh and we also repeatedly looked JV off in the post, even though he worked them early...

When the shot went up, JV couldn't get the offensive rebounds either because they again would body check him with two or three players to take him out, and JV didn't get any help crashing the boards. A smart strategy for Indiana that forced the refs to make those calls, and they didn't.

Overall and extremely poorly coached game that compounded on a poor effort from DD/Scola/Lowry, so it looked really bad.

He needs to get them the shots they normally make

Trust the pass, pound the rock... you just know Casey has a picture of a cat in his office with the message "Hang in there".

Casey takes blame, takes DeRozan and Lowry off the hook. Says he needs to game plan better to get them shots.— Ryan Wolstat (@WolstatSun) April 23, 2016
Wait...to get THEM shots? Them getting shots hasn't been the issue; it's them hitting shots that is.

I think he meant game plan to get them more shots, not better shots. They only had 15 and 12, well below their season averages. Gotta get those #s up!
