We'll see. Lots of people thought their teams should tank for the next decade when Bosh and Lebron went to Miami. Same stuff that is being written now and will be written in the coming days.

          • if GM's and owners around the league are really pissed off they can cause problems. There's nothing in the rules that requires any of them to trade for Bogut.

GSW will be giving up picks for years and years at this point.

            • If they lose Bogut they are pretty screwed against big ball teams (like the Spurs). And Curry/Durant may not mesh. Will be interesting.

Just like when Miami was going to win 7 or 8 with the Heatles.... We'll see.
How is this even remotely comparable? Miami had been eliminated in the first round 2 years in a row prior to the forming of that team.

as true as that is, it's also a bit different. these guys are paid to be public figures of some sort. so they should expect public dissatisfaction with choices they make. Not to mention if nobody cared where he went, there'd be nowhere for him to go and make so much money. This kind of tweet is pretty self-righteous and pretentious.
There's a difference between caring/public dissatisfaction and hateful name calling/jersey burning which is what he's likely referring to.

                      • By the way, the other thing that just happened:

Any hope we had of getting veteran's on vet's minimum deals to sign with us because we're a 'contender' just went out the window.

i have zero issue with Durant joining GS. he was a free agent, they won him over. he has a better chance at winning a ring there. that's pretty much it.
Thats exactly why its so stupid tho. An MVP caliber guy like that shouldnt be joining contenders to win a ring. He's not 36, hes in his prime. Where is the competition?
This shit used to never happen. Now it seems to be the norm; superstar players joining forces because they're too afraid of losing.

Fan enthusiasm does not make athletes indentured servants. Regardless, the tweet was a lot more light-hearted than the way you're taking it, I think. All the "noise" is fine and it's just for kicks if we keep in mind it's ball sports. If you honestly think a man and his family need to work/live somewhere in particular because "public dissatisfaction," you're losing perspective on ball sports...
