But given that we have a giant pile of evidence that Siakam absolutely does not fit with the starting lineup (yet), there's still no reason to believe Sullinger would be a downgrade.

Obv we have the most efficient offense in history at the moment, sullinger was never that efficient not to mention he'll be rusty, so force feeding him as a 3rd or 4th option on the court isnt a good idea. Siakam needs 0 touches, just runs the floor. We shall see what sullinger expects out of himself

DanH wrote: View PostNah, JV is an offensive rebounding specialist. Sully grabs like 30% fewer offensive boards than JV. Sure, he should still crash the glass when he's close enough (and if he's spotting in the corner, as he should be, he can be a threat on weakside boards), but all signs suggest he can hit the corner three at a rate where it really does make sense to have him there a lot of the time.
last year he took a total of 2 FG attempts from the corners. the guy has been taking less and less 3 pointers over the years because hes terrible at them.
his 2013-2014 season was where he took the most 3 point shots from the corner and he shot 6/21 for a lovely 28.5%. if i were the opposing team i would not give a shit if sullinger was planted out there and play 5 on 4.
even sullinger himself seems to say hes given up on them

A.I wrote: View PostScola went from making 5/20 3 pointers in his last season with the Pacers to making 65 of them with the Raptors and at 40% 3FG. Wouldn't surprise me if Sullinger developed some sort of a 3 point shot.
scola barely EVER shot 3's before coming to toronto.
sullinger has already been shooting them as often as patrick patterson does for the past couple of seasons. unlike scola, sullinger has never improved from deep.
a lot of people were calling ross and ppat absolute garbage when they were in their 3 point slumps whenever they'd be shooting below 30% before they'd eventually shoot their way out of it. sullinger has NEVER shot over 30% from deep in any season.
sure, its entirely POSSIBLE that sullinger could get better, but so far, the evidence says otherwise.

On two point shots from the equivalent distance that a corner three is, Sullinger has been a 40-50% shooter on solid volume throughout the past couple seasons.
