  • NBA to move AllStar game from Charlotte due to HB2 legislation

The NBA announced Thursday afternoon it would be moving the 2017 All-Star Game from Charlotte due to North Carolina’s anti-LGBT legislation.

“The NBA has decided to relocate the 2017 All-Star Game from Charlotte with the hope of rescheduling for 2019,” the league said in a statement.

Meanwhile, get ready to buy your NBA tickets for preseason games in China!!!!!!! The NBA - we can't successfully host our All Star in hostile climate created by a law requiring men to use men's washrooms - but we can absolutely have a great time in a society of organ harvesting, political oppression, banning of religions, torture, forced abortion, female infanticide, etc. All of those things are apparently compatible with the NBA's core values.

nba's core values is money. for me i don't think kids in schools should be allowed to go into any change room or bathroom but as an adult if you're a tranny or queer go wherever you want, i don't care. for me if a boy thinks he is a girl in high school and he thinks the idea of not being made fun of is to be known to use the girls bathroom, he isn't going to like the next couple years. if a girl thinks she is a boy and has to be treated as a boy and goes into a change room filled with teenage boys, she isn't going to have a good time either. this force schools to adapt is basically choosing the worst option for all involved and then just label everyone who disagrees a bigot and bam world peace.

as far as china goes the hypocrisy i hate the most comes from right wing conservatives that argue abortion is murder and don't condemn china for genocide.

Please try and educate yourself about the details of the HB2 law rather than referring to lazy boilerplate arguments ....this is not just about the bathroom context...which is a red herring.

As far as the China argument...were you concerned about the NBA's participation in China's basketball activities last year (before this brouhaha) or just got an epiphany when this move occurred. The larger point...Americans/Canadians should be primarily concerned with their own laws....and try to influence positive change in others. US Fed law is at odds with N. Car. law in this matter.

Relationships with foreign countries at the governmental level on matters of human rights have always been discussed in the hopes others improve while maintaining the trading/business relationship...unless of course issues become especially egregious.

            It's not just about bathrooms...
