Yeah, this is its own thing. It's more of a contest than a league because it's going to be roto. I hope many of the strong competitors join and we get some good newcomers as well. I will post something more final once I work it all through but last year my idea for an avatar contest was Elimination and this year it's roto.

Oh and I've been back and fourth on the draft format but if we actually do field 20 teams then it probably has to be an auction draft or otherwise I don't know how good some of the team's will be.

I want keep out of the way of Dynasty, Keeper and h2h re-draft. Some of us just finished two drafts for football. One to three basketball drafts on tap already in October. Another draft in there seems daunting, especially a 20 man league. Let's try auto based on pre ranks. I mean if you use a draft board you can convert that into your pre ranks and it should turn out close to what you'd have drafted live.

Draft order, let's not let Yahoo decide. Draft order will be decided as follows:

• Pick the winners of each of the Raptors' preseason games
• Tiebreaker 1: Guess the Raptors' combined score.
• Tiebreak 2(if needed): Guess their opponents combined score.

Why autodraft? Why not let people who want to be there draft live?

Mainly:

Because we already have three drafts going on in October and I don't want to get in their way. I don't want to remotely impact their turnouts.

Because I've received a few PMs already from people telling me that was a good call and they're only joining because it's auto based on pre ranks.

Because it puts everyone on an even playing field. We have three other leagues that are ultra competitive. Just like elimination I was intending to have that similar easy going, yet competitive enough blend for this league.

Jeez... I have never pre-ranked, always just had guys I liked and looked for them each round regardless of ranking.

The only other time I pre ranked for an auto draft it was my first time ever doing fantasy.

First I selected all the Pg's I wanted, then Sg's, then Sf's etc. Believing that it would just fill out my roster based on position. I ended up with a team of only PG's with 1 or 2 bigs. I came in 4th.
