Does this mean we're getting George or Butler?

So people stopped blaming Masai finally? lmao
Ask JamesNaismith, he was driving the "Masai is a fucking idiot" train for this trade.

      • Source w/reasons Pels got Boogie: Cs (too focussed on getting Butler), Orl (could've had him, balked) & Phx (Sac didn't want BKnight).

well...there you go. If they didn't want Drummond then why would they go for JV

New Orleans is apparently shopping T. Jones now. Could be had for cheap. Any interest? His shooting has dropped off badly though
He can be had for cheap because his play has fallen off a cliff.

Besides which: we truly don't need another big right now, considering Masai probably wants to ditch Sullinger and find a good shooting wing to replace him.

Skip to the 6:00 min. mark, Aldridge talks about the Raptors love to get Wilson Chandler. I think there's better options than an average 3pt shooter/defender who's on a $11-12M contract annually. Or we need to move Carroll which is clearly not happening...

                  • You gotta feel sorry for Buddy Hield. After Vivek & Vlade, he's going to be the 3rd most hated man in the city Sacramento, through no fault of his own.

                    • Some comments from Kevin Lowe on the Raptors and Celtics:

Orlando fell so far out of the playoffs, it had no choice but to salvage something from Serge Ibaka -- and the Raptors, flailing pseudo-contenders at the time, scooped him up to chase a suddenly wounded Cavs team.
Boston is threading a tricky needle. Before they lost Kevin Durant, the Thunder talked about the possibility of contending for titles for something like 15 straight seasons instead of flaming out after a half-decade of ring-chasing. That's why Sam Presti, their GM, kept the back of the roster stocked with extra picks, and then turned those extra picks into young players on rookie scale contracts. The coffers would always be full.

The Thunder are no longer contending. Durant left, and he reportedly grew frustrated with Oklahoma City's inability to land quality veterans.

Boston is at no risk of losing a player near Durant's caliber, and if they simply keep their picks, they have a chance to be very good for a very long time. The status quo is the safest route. They won't jeopardize it for a rental (Ibaka) or a ball-dominant star who could ruin their culture (Cousins).

this seems like a bit of pandering to Celtics fans.

They clearly didn't need Ibaka because they have Horford and their weakness is rebounding.

It's also becoming clear that they had no shot at Cousins without selling the farm, since Vivek is a dipshit who thinks Buddy Hield is the second coming of Curry.

Why do we need to praise them for doing the obvious?

Also think that calling the Ibaka move just an attempt to chase the Cavs is a bit disingenuous. I think Masai feels he has an inside track in terms of keeping Ibaka long term, and in that case, if the performance is up to par, he just snagged a great piece in exchange for almost nothing. It's a moderate risk, high reward move, if MLSE is truly saying that a winner can go into that luxury tax zone.

Maybe they found the cure for their weakness:

Thomas and Horford did the same thing in the summer...

It's pretty clear "anyone could have beat the Pels offer" isn't completely true, Kings were demanding different things from different teams. They also refused anything from the Lakers that didn't include Ingram.
