We badly need the Pacers to keep the Heat at bay.

True, forgot about that. Also need the Pacers to keep the Celtics away from 1st. We're very close to 3rd and we don't need Cavs dropping to 2.

Thank you, very insightful. Guess there's even more incentive for the Raps to close out the season strong and aim high.
The Lebrons used up one of their 4 last night....They had all their guys on the floor yet Denver shredded their pretty porous defence. They didn't switch well and gave up a ton of points inside. His Highness wasn't pleased.

It didn't look like a flip the switch once we get to the playoffs type of fix.

          • If we mix the top 2 teams roster on each division, asuming everyone is healthy who would win in a 7 games series

            Lowry-Thomas
            DeRozan-Bradley
            Cowford-Turker
            Ibaka-Johnson
            Hoford-JV

            Irving-Dellavedova
            Ginnas-Korver
            James-Middleton
            Love-Parker
            Thomson-Monroe

            Wall-Schroder
            Beal-Bazemore
            Porter-Dunleavy
            Milsap-Morris
            Howard-Gortat

TBH, other than Lebron (and the overrated Shumpert), the Cavs have average-to-terrible defenders all throughout that roster. Makes you appreciate that Lebron really is just THAT good. But the Cavs look beatable this year and Lebron is way overdue to miss a finals after an incredible run. Stars feel like they're aligning for an upset when a fresh Lowry returns to join a rejuvenated Raps team.

When's the last time somebody made 7 straight finals? I'd venture it's been a long long time

LeBron got his "help" but they're all absolutely horrid defenders. Deron Williams, Korver, and Derrick Williams probably aren't stopping anyone in the playoffs.

                    • Problem with Cleveland isn't really their defense (and besides they basically have the same team as last year minus Delly and Mozgov). It's the fact that the NBA wants to see Cleveland and GSW in the finals again. The refs will give the Cavs every advantage they can reasonably give them.

                      • Last night saw a couple surprises. The Lebrons took another body shot as the Cavs defence did a DB Cooper in Denver. The Pistons don't have the look of a playoff team as they weren't in it last night against the arguably more tired team and paid dearly for it as they have slipped to 1.5 games back of eighth. Schedule isn't bad but if they play more games like they did last night the schedule is daunting. Bucks come home sporting a 4 and 2 road trip and now in 6th. Indy continues their road woes..what's worse is they got dusted by Boston with Paul George putting up 37.

It's now officially uncomfortable in Detroit and Indy.

Only one game in the East tonight...

Raps into South Beach The Heat have come from 20 lengths back in this unforeseen run up the standings from the bottom of the heap to the 8th spot. They did this without Bosh (huge loss) and Winslow (no loss as this guy for all the hype is the second coming of Michael Kidd-Gilchrist...a bust).Eventually though when you had to go to the whip early and often the horse, however valiant, runs out of gas. Tonight with no Whiteside (or a hurt one) and no Waiters the Heat are going to be undermanned and they are a little tired. With every game for the last 35 meaning so much it drains the tank a little.

Raps were embarrassed last time in and will make amends. Raps W.
