Switching Lowry for Parker, nevermind losing JV, would definitely change the team completely. We'd be terrible. I'd rather just start Joseph, whose defence-first play at PG at least supplements Demar's heavy use offensive game somewhat.

Zero interest in a declining Parker. Heck, trading JV for Parker on his draft night was a debate worth having (though I would't have made the trade then either). Doing it now, when Parker is going on 35 years old, and just came off the worst year of his career?
I think we stick with JV unless we can unload D.C. with him . DC will be hard to move. Everyone knows his knee is shot.

Translation: the gun is loaded and Casey's on the borrowed time now. It also means that he'll get one more chance to prove that his coaching & systems can translate to the playoffs. This, of course, assumes that Lowry is back.

If they have another 50+ win season, make the playoffs and are more competitive, but ultimately lose to the Cav's, then what do you think they should do with Casey? Ultimately, they are not going to beat LeBron with the roster they have. Is changing the coach for the sake of change what you want or are you fine with the Raptors retaining Casey if they have a more competitive series against the Cavs?

I remember the good old days when Casey was on the hot seat after the Wizards sweep. Thing is, by the time training camp rolls around, no one seems to remember the playoffs or care anymore. Including Masai.

This is a question that should have been asked and answered this season. And it's not change for the sake of change. It's change for the sake of laying the groundwork for proper long-term development of our younger players. God forbid they should all end up as iso rock-pounders.

As I noted on twitter, the Magic own the Lakers' 2018 2nd rounder in addition to their own. If both teams continue to suck, should be a decently high 2nd rounder.

                  • Class move by Orlando. They really don't have to give us anything.

In theory Masai could have denied Orlando the right to even speak with Weltman while he's under contract, like the Cavs did with Griffin. Compensation could have been discussed up front as a condition.

This is true. Forgot about that possibility.

Not just talking, but presumably letting him out of his contract as well. Still, not a necessity. Always possible Weltman insisted so as to leave on the best terms possible.

Masai is ruthless lol wouldn't even give up Bargnani without getting THREE picks back

                              • Shams is reporting that Orlando and Toronto cannot trade with one another until the end of 17-18 season. ( due to the Weltman deal..pretty common apparently)

So no draft day trades of Carroll or Corey Jo to Orlando. I had my eye on their early second round picks.
