Agreed there's nothing any player can do to relieve the injury. But to see the seas part the way they did, Hayward was on an island all by himself. Grab a towel to cover up the injury to keep his from freaking out, at least. That's what Calderon had the foresight to do with Garbajosa.
Yeah and it was Lebron providing encouragement for him as he was being taken away on a stretcher.

Terrible injury. Hate to see that. Have to admit I'm pretty annoyed that everyone is gonna be saying the Celtics would have taken the east if it wasnt for the injury. I was really looking forward to the raptors beating them at full strength.

Too early to proclaim that. Maybe they adjust and play well. It could be Danny Granger/Paul George type of situation

Yeah its possible but wouldn't base it off last night. While their young guys looked good, the Cavs looked horrible last night. Without Irving or IT in their lineup they were relying heavily on the corpses of Rose and Wade to break down defenses last night and it just looked awful. They shot only 17 threes which is a huge step back for the Cavs. They just looked bad all around.

        • Feel bad for Hayward but, not the Celtics. Especially after the way they did IT.

Yeah both teams have had significant roster changes and you could see it last night. That's still a Cavs team without IT, which is significant, and obviously everything Boston had prepared for would have been with Hayward at the core of it, understandable they were off for the first half and really amazing how they responded in the 2nd.

The Cavs made a bigger shift from regular season to playoff gear last year than, I think, any other year in Lebron's career. That's going to happen again with him well into his 30's. I think we basically can't read anything into Cleveland's regular season.

Boston is overhyped for the second year in a row. All the best to Hayward. Brown looks good. He drove on Lebron one-on-one from the perimeter and Lebron had to foul him in the key, wasn't quick enough to stay in front of him.

            • Yeah Cavs will turn it around for the playoffs.. but if Wade and Rose get heavy minutes in that lineup it will be harder. Cavs bread and butter last year was their elite 3pt shooting. Taking only 17 3pa last night can't be something they keep doing.

IT will change things.. he'll move Rose to the bench. JR Smith should start over Wade too, but I don't see that happening.

              • Rose's body mechanics are less than ideal. He's always going to get hurt with the way he moves/plays and there's no consistency in his shooting form. And still the Cavs are lucky to have him.

We can take 1st if things break our way.

Yeah its gonna happen too. He won't be able to rest and coast so much this year especially if IT isnt the same player when he comes back.

Ah the yearly ritual of grasping at straws for signs that the Cleveland lebronaliers are beatable.

One thing and one thing only gets us to the finals. LeBron being injured enough that he can't play in may. As trump would say: sad!

At least we're not the only ones getting trolled by him. With Boston switching everything, he was laughing a few times when he scored in the face of a PG or a C.

Guy plays 41 minutes, puts up 29pts 16reb 9ast 2blk 63% shooting, makes the crunch time plays to win the game for his team after they were down, AND thinks the whole thing is just kinda funny. At 32. Against the team that's supposed to be his primary competition in the conference.

                              Oh well.

And after the game he said that he feels really out of shape because he wasn't able to take part in most of preseason
