  • Game #9: Washington Wizards 107 - Toronto Raptors 96

With Bob Marley’s Redemption Song playing in the background the Raptors showed up after a bad loss in Denver and clocked the Jazz right in Salt Lake in front of the Mormon Tabernacle choir. "Oorah!” This team has more than a little moxie going for it. Kyle and Norm found the range from 3, Demar did what Demar does, JV and Poeltl cleaned up on the glass and provided a physical presence against Rudy G. The kids – Pascal, Anunoby, Wright – showed they are for real NBA rotation players. "Oorah!”

Up Next is…. The best team in the east, with the best backcourt in the NBA, a team so good they finished 4th and struck so much fear into the hearts of the Cleveland Cavaliers the Lebrons ducked them in last years playoffs. BAAHAHAHAH

Starting for the Raps... The Usual Suspects

PG Kyle" Found that 3 stroke” Lowry
SG Demar " Pencil me in for 25" Derozan
SF Norman "Its coming around” Powell
    PF Serge "Anger Managment" Ibalka
C Jonas "There is ALWAYS room for Physical Big Boy Basketball" Valanciunas

Starting for The Best Team in the East – Sarcasm dripping from every Syllable

PG John”Can’t Make Clutch FT’s and Torturer” Wall (Game Time Decision) If he can't go its Tim Frazier
    SG Brad “The Assmuppet” Beal
PF Markieff “Almost a Felon” Morris.
    SF Otto “The Max” Porter
    C Marcin “The Co-Torturer” Gortat

So here we go... The Fearless Prediction... If Wall can’t or doesn’t go this would be a seriously big break for the F22’s. The first game back from the road is always tough. But the Raps are mentally tough. The minutes are being spread around amongst a pretty deep team. That depth is what gets them over the hump again. A Raps win.
There's no such thing as a 2nd round bust.

Has John Wall said anything stupid yet about the Raptors? because his team always loses everytime he talks shit.

Last night for example. He said LeBron and the Cavs ducked them last year LOL.
LeBron torched them for 57 last night.

In the Lakers game, they said that Wall is going to torture Ball for 48 mins. Well, Ball outplayed Wall in that game. Lakers ended up winning the game and Wall shot 1/11 in the 4th and OT.

Powell will probably get the tough assignment in covering Wall.

Otto Porter is pretty good, need to shut him down.

Other then that it's the same old Wizards, let's hope no road trip hangover lurking and CJ is good to go because we will need some shooting for this one.

Wall injured his non-shooting shoulder last night, and is 'questionable' to play. Wizards actually got a break because he apparently left the arena with his arm in a sling last night, but there's no structural damage.

          Your game threads are legendary.

This should be a win, but Raps can't play down to them. Even with John Wall out
          OG is our king

An interesting stat: usage rates for players through 8 games. The new system looks like it's really working, with the same backbone as before.

Note that in any 5 man lineup the total usage is 100%, so 20% is by definition an average usage.

DeMar DeRozan has a 30% usage rate. This has become typical for him. A little down from last year but not a wild deviation by any means.

To accommodate this higher usage, there are four bench role players who carry lower usage rates. Wright is at 16%, Poeltl at 17%, OG at 15%, and BeBe at 14%.

But the majority of the team is very, very close to 20%.

                  Lowry 19.6%
                  Powell 17.9%
                  Ibaka 19.6%
                  Miles 20.1%
                  Siakam 19.5%
                  Van Vleet 19.9%
                  JV 19.7%

                  That's a balanced offence.

Now we just have to lower those numbers for Bebe and particularly VanVleet. Need a big win tonight to get on a roll

John Wall is questionable vs Raptors. No structural damage, just soreness
