  • can the raps 3 pt percentage improve?

assuming the roster stays the same

  • #2
Yes absolutely. I give you......Demar Derozan. More than .100 over his lifetime percentage this year. Fred VanVleet is on the upswing, CJ will be getting more shots and Norm and OG will be at least a little better than they have been the past few weeks. They can get up to 36-36.5%. But if you figure out what difference that makes overall....it would come out to less than a make a game. Of course....some games are settled by 2 points aren't they?

Siakam and Wright are the two guys that need to work on their 3's. We might see some improvement, especially from Siakam who's been awful.. but most likely it won't happen within season. Not enough practice days. That's really a summer project for both those guys.

Siakam 3 pointer is cringeworthy. Sure he can hit it in practice but he may need another summer to figure it all out.

Pretty sure Siakam's will improve down the stretch. His form already looks better.

300 shots a day. Double your % in two years or less. Become a legitimate threat on three.

Hire 2 ball boys to collect rebounds and pass you the ball for a couple hours a night through the whole off season. Best $10,000 you ever spent in your life.

Delon should also begin to start shooting it a little better, he's shooting 90 % from the free throw line so hopefully that will translate.

He shot 37% from 3 in December and shooting 40% in January so far. Shot 67% in November but it was a just a few games before he went down.

Casey has said JV has the green light to shoot 3's. More from JV and fewer from Siakam will bump that % right up.

I think we're a bit delusional here, we really need another shooter to effectively change our %, not just a few decimals.

We are at the bottom five in the league in shooting % at 35%, we hurl so many threes which is the focus of the culture change but most of these are clunkers.

Something has to give especially if the defenses tighten up and refs whistles are historically looser during the playoffs.

Ujiri can see the obvious by just using the eye test although I’m sure he does check the stat sheets once in a while.

Agreed. Can it improve? Sure. Is it likely to? No..not really. Lowry and miles are our only good shooters and lowry usually stops shooting good right around..now. so there's that

                              Can it? Sure.
Will it, markedly this year? Doubtful
You can't just take a bunch of guys who are terrible at the 3, announce a culture change and expect everyone can somehow be league average or better just through a decision.....thee are still a few on this team who should NEVER be allowed to hoist up a 3 yet they do!
