Rudy Gay, Grizzlies Agree to $81.6M Extension

Rudy Gay has agreed to a five-year, $81.6 million contract with the Memphis Grizzlies, his representatives at Octagon confirmed to Y! Sports.

The fifth and final year of the contract will be at Gay’s option.

“We have a verbal agreement on a deal,” said Gay’s agent, Jeff Austin.

good for memphis, they made some solid progress the last couple of years hopefully they put up a fight for 8th seed next year

Good for Memphis, after years of being a bad team at least they were able to land high draft picks all this time and build for tomorrow in which they are ready to compete next season.

Hear that Colangelo?!?! drafting is the way to go!!! not retooling high price free agents that will only make the Raptors mediocre each year. Blow up the team and start a youth movement if Bosh walks!! I rather see that the Raptors becoming a very new jerseyesque crappy for the next 2 years thus able to land high draft picks and get out of this mediocre hole!

wow, Memphis just priced Rudy Gay out of the free agent market. They were not joking, when they said they will do anything to keep Rudy Gay. Good for them.Hope, we see that team in the playoffs next year with Gay at the 3, Henry at the 2 and Randolph at the 4 or 5. looks like Pheonix without Amare out of the playoffs has a successor.
