What should the ACC chant be when Miami comes to town? CB sucks would just be lame. How about 'who's the man!' ?? Maybe remind him he's number 3 on the totem.

The Dan Gilbert Letter Thread

What a load of bullshit. Why make it so personal? He's a free agent; what does he owe the franchise? Gilbert continues to call him selfish and self-centered and a traitor over and over again, yet the Cleveland franchise has been letting him get away with the first two his whole career - and now they're surprised he still is? They empowered him all throughout his insolence. Dan Gilbert, Cleveland Cavaliers Owner... and bitter ex-girlfriend.
Anyway, I wonder if LeBron was going to go back to Cleveland to try to win them a championship after this Miami contract. Not anymore, I guess. Fifty bucks says LeBron tells Wade and Bosh "I got this" first time they play in Cleveland.Last edited by TRX; Fri Jul 9, 2010, 10:14 AM.

I think part of the purpose of the letter would be to keep all the season ticket holders from dropping their tickets and also to let people know that the team will still be entertaining, so keep buying tickets.

Adrien Wojnarowski wrote a column this morning criticizing James, but also saying that Gilbert's letter was simply to deflect the criticism of people who might point out that he spoiled and pampered LBJ during his time with the Cavs.

So now people are cheering Dan Gilbert’s manifesto tearing apart James, but no one contributed more to what the world witnessed on Thursday night than the owner’s enabling of James and his inner circle for seven years. Gilbert is the biggest con going, a man who makes his fortune peddling mortgages, and he’ll make his next on casinos in downtown Cleveland. He sells illusions for a living, and now he’s selling the biggest of all: that he’s a victim here, that James betrayed everyone. That’s a lie, and no one ought to dare buy it.

“This whole idea that he makes his own decisions, that [bleep] went out the window with this,” one NBA executive said. “Someday, he’s going to look back at this and not believe that he let those kids at LRMR talk him into doing this. This idea that he’s his own man … Come on, he’s a follower. And he’s following all the way to Miami now.”

Hotshot wrote: View PostGreat quote by the unnamed NBA executive. Just like Bosh was in Toronto, Lebron is no leader but a follower. Lebron only marketed himself as a leader but he couldn't inspire his team-mates to play better unlike what KG did in Boston, so Lebron placed his tail between his legs and bolted like a coward that he is. One has to wonder how much real is Lebron and how much of himself is a fake persona created to sell himself. One thing for sure is that when an athlete wants to become better known for being a celebrity then his actions on the court, he usually ends up ruinning his image and ruinning the sport he plays for.
James also didn't play with anyone as good as Paul Pierce or Ray Allen?
Lebron wants to win numerous titles. Not just one.RR OG
