this method only works with me on sitcoms... where actual airtime is only like 20 min per episode.

with the HBO/AMC/etc etc shows that have a good straight up hour long runtime... im good with once a week... it almost feels like the movies, and every week is a sequel that doesnt suck

the exception to that rule being the Wire... that i marathon watched the entire series in one weekend
im not much of a sitcom guy.
i cant man, i cant let myself think of whats going to happen in the next episode. its torture.
besides, its all legal anyways. perfectly legal. hehehe.

try spreading your shows out over the week. personally, i have what i like to call social A.D.D.... if i watch tv for too long, i get incredibly antsy and have to go out and do things... usually one hour long show, or 2-3 sitcoms are all i can take before i need to interact with complete strangers... one show a night is about my limit... maybe two, depending on how long it takes to cook dinner

I went through three seasons of "Sons of Anarchy" watching one episode per day after my old man recommended the series to me a few times. It's sort of like the Sopranos but with bikers and bimbos. I think one a day works best for me if I want to tackle a new series. I don't usually have the time to do a marathon. Especially now that my free time on Sundays is invested in Packers games.

wasn't my cup of tea, but other people swear by it... i only made it half way through the first season before i threw in the towel.. i think shows with no characters that i can empathise with will never really have a chance.

Sons has far more violence, and a more interesting storyline. I like the Sopranos but I never watched it past season 3. Sons of Anarchy just added Danny Trejo and David Hasselhoff for season 4. Danny plays a drug king pin. Davey boy plays a retired porn star.

I would recommend Sons of Anarchy(SOA or SAMCRO to fans) far and above the Sopranos. I think SOA is a lot better series than The Walking Dead so far but SOA has three seasons already under its belt.

so i took your advice and gave SOA a twirl.... after the first couple episodes, i'm not all-in yet... its entertaining enough, but hasnt blown me away.. one of my co-workers who's really into the show told me that the second season is when it gets really out of control... and luckily, terra nova is nosediving hard in my tv rotation, so i'll probably slot it in there.. I was quite pleased to see Hellboy & Peggy Bundy in it though..

Has anyone watched American Horror Story yet? Just watched the first episode last night... i seriously don't think i've ever seen a show that twisted and demented in my life.. movies, sure.. but never a tv show

You need to give it time. It gets progressively better. Trust me. Season two is excellent. Season three is great too. Season four is delivering big so far too by the way. Season one is all about establishing the characters early on. It's important but I agree, a little slow at first but it didn't get to season four for nothing.

Thumbs up to Peg too. Do you watch Modern Family? It's funny how "Al" and "Peggy" both have emerged again with hit shows around the same time.

For most people it's probably not a big deal, but Futurama is one of my all-time favourite shows... so Peg has been around for awhile... nice to see her on camera though.... and i must say, for an old bird, still looking good

she actually looks better than she did in 8 simple rules.

is it a bad thing i enjoyed watching that show?

Sometimes, I like to buy a book on CD and listen to it, while reading music.

I never watched SG1 but by chance I caught episode one of SGU and then ended up following it until it got canned. I liked it. Same thing with Battlestar Gallactica. I had no intention of getting into that one either and ended up PVRing it the whole way through. I don't watch anything live by the way. Not even football or basketball. For sports I'll let it go an hour and then I can watch the whole thing while skipping commercials and usually catch the dieing minutes live.
