  • Warriors Salary Dump?

I don't know how desperate GS is to get rid of Monta's huge salary (and long term!) contract, but maybe the TPE + filler would get it done, and we also pry Udeh(sp?) away for picking up the contract?

Golden State just pumped out a fair bit of money this past summer in order to pick up David Lee. With new ownership in place it certainly does not seem to be their desire to cut salary. That being said, I think if they are wanting to dump Monta Ellis, they can do a lot better then simply a TPE and Julian Wright...let alone also trading one of their top young prospects in Udoh.

I also would personally not want Ellis on the team. He is incredibly explosive and can dominate the game offensively, but I have not liked his attitude the past few seasons. He signs a huge contract and then damages his ankle in a moped accident...but lies about it and says he was playing hoops when he hurt it. Then he publicly complains when the team drafts a promising young PG to play with him.

Warriors are most definitely looking to shake things up but they do not appear to be in salary dumping mode and they definitely don't appear to be giving up Udoh before he has even played.

Udoh is another 4 - we don't need 4's with Davis and Johnson.

Ellis scores 25 a game. Forget his attitude for a second, teams do not throw away 25ppg for nothing. Now remember his attitude and remember Toronto does not have any problems scoring.

The only possibility for Toronto to take a salary from GS would be Biendris. If Toronto could get 2 very promising players via the draft (i.e. rookie contracts) at wing and point, Biendris would be an interesting proposition.

A big rotation of Bargnani, Johnson, Davis, and Biendris with Dorsey deep on the bench - not bad.

But again, I'm not sure the $9M is worth it with the uncertainty of the new labour environment.
