Lost in all the hubbub of the Melo trade is the knicks got Brewer (presumedly to get rid of curry's contract and get Randolph) who now has a undefined role. With fields and Melo there's not a lot of minutes to go around, raps should make a play for him. The Knicks could use a alabi or evans in frontcourt help and brewer would be a perfect defensive specialist to come off the bench/start at the 3.

    Thoughts?

I disagree. Brewer is very much important to the Knicks now. They just got rid of 2 wings with very important roles and picked up 2 more wings. Brewer will most likely be the 6th man for this team - or at the very least first wing off the bench.

BTW, I would very much like to see Brewer in a Raps uniform.

Agreed. Imagine, pairing him with DeRozan. We'd actually have a defensive wing. And we'd be pretty big, DeRozan is 6'7, Brewer is 6'9, Davis is 6'10 and Bargnani 7'0.

Look for D'Antoni to play a lineup of Billups, Fields, Brewer, Melo, Stoudemire. Probably won't start with it, but I almost promise you he finishes with it.

That's not very promising. They had a very promising line-up before that, now they got 4 guys who have already reached their ceiling, and I don't think Fields will improve that much.
