  • "You can't go into a fist fight slapping."/ "It was Men against Boys."

You think Jay is finally starting to call out his guys? If this is what he's feeding the press he's got to be getting into them harder in practice behind closed doors. Growing as a coach perhaps?

I hope he is talking/yelling with players as you suggest. There are coaches who in the past have talked through the media rather face to face. That certainly does nothing for the player or the coach.

It's a bit late in the season to show your anger/frustration and put your foot down, this stuff usually happens in training camp. Guy's a hack coach, still, keep him because at least he's losing games which is what we want right now.

Colourful quote but nothing to stake a lot on regarding the season or Jay's status. The guys were out of it coming off the break and basically the yawning intensity didn't make much of a game.

Bargnani needs to put in at least 100% effort each game, which he isn't. I don't think he even realizes that he's on the court, playing a basketball game. Man, when your bigman is the guy playing the softest, that just sucks.

Maybe he senses the end is near and so he doesn't care about being political correct? This could be just as much a jab at Colangelo as it is at the players.

common guys you know he's clearly frontin'.
if him and BC were that serious about winning now, they shouldve done something by now.
he's just doing these things so that it wont be as obvious that theyve already thrown this season to the dumps and is on the path of rebuilding.

my concern is, if BC has already come out and said this will be their "young core" to build on, should we really get our hopes up that 2-3 new bodies will vastly improve this team both offensively and much more importantly, defensively?

i mean the rotation is pretty much set - calderon, bayless, DD, Amir, Davis and Bargs. say they trade calderon, even if we get a sensational rookie, does the core of DD, Amir, Davis and Bargs really a playoff/contender team?

Read Feschuk's piece in the Star today in which he has a few lines from the Oak (now asst coach with the Cats) re the D problem with the Raptors. He says it's on the coach. badabing badaboom.

                  Slapping

"You cann't go into a fist fight slapping" that's a Fu*king classic. Calling your team a bunch of sissies now is kind of late, Jay. You should have grown some onions earlier in the season when you had the chance and time. You should have benched your Italian statue of liberty when he was just standing still on defense and rebounding.

Nah Joey, Jay Triano has officially lost the room, I hope he does not come back as the head coach after this season. Get an experienced coach instead (Mike Woodson, Jeff Van Gundy and my favourite Nate Mcmillan(the premier coaching free agent) are available - give them a call).

Triano isn't a hack. He may not be a top-quality NBA head coach but to call him a hack is ridiculous. This team would not be materially better this season with any other coach in the world. To say he is the cause of the losing is akin to blaming a director for a bad movie when he has no budget, crappy actors, and a gawdawful script.

Triano shares some of the blame but I defy you to name a coach that could do anything with this collection of castoffs and palceholders Colangelo has assembled.
