    Are you insane?

Also with the amount of attention DD gets he should definitely be passing more.

I've probably counted numerous times per game that DD looks off a wide open JV, So how can you say he looks for his teammates when that is not true?

    Do you even watch games?
If you did you would definitely see DD calls ISO after ISO and looks off his teammates constantly
Well this comment isnt patronizing at all... very conducive to discussions!

    • to the continuous JV is wide open comments. He really isn't. Pierce is generally hovering in the passing lane. They overplay the wings so that any pass would have to be a lob. Pierce or whoever is shadowing have more then enough time to intercept the pass. There is almost always someone shadowing him. He generally gets the ball when he properly seals his man and there is no second defender nearby.

This. Also I've seen people "screaming" in the game threads at DD to pass to an "open" JV when DeMar is being trapped near the half court line. Only LeBron can make that pass lol, people need to chill.

Yes...but that's because he's not being aggressive. He has backed himself away from the trap almost every time. That's how he ends up drifting toward halfcourt. He's playing right into the D's hands.

Yeah let's start attacking traps instead of backing out and swinging the ball, because his name is Michael Jordan.

You have to decide right away if you'll try to split it, or pass it as quickly as possible. What does DeMar do? Backs up, backs up, picks up his dribble...has nothing to do. In other words, does exactly what the D wants and plays the trap in the worst possible way.

Also the team needs to make adjustments and try to develop an easy outlet option from the trap.

*It's good to take a quick step back if it's to give yourself the space/angle to make the pass you want, but if you don't, you're probably just going to get screwed by the trap.

DD will learn through experience how to handle traps.

Hopefully quickly. And really, the coaching staff needs to make it the big focus offensively in these days off.

                    Hockey assist

Give up the ball so the wing can hit JV

                    • Heels have really dug in all around.

                      Here is reality:

DD is shooting more and making less.
                      The ball is stagnating.
                      Too much ISO being run.
DD is back to career averages of just 0.1 higher in rebounds and assists but playing 25% more minutes over career average.

Any criticism of DD right now is to run less ISO, make quicker decisions, and trade difficult shots for easier ones by teammates.

I'm not understanding the backlash. Hey DeMar! Play like you did the majority of the last 40 games of the season. Thanks!

Yeah, this pretty much sums it up.

Most of his issues are the result of Brooklyn really scheming to shut him down. We need him to be able to cope with that and still play well, but at the very least he's drawing attention away from Lowry and JV.

He's playing badly, but I certainly don't see a Rudy Gay situation where the team can make leaps and bounds by playing him less.

edit: plus, isn't brooklyn able to take away that little amir-dd hand off that we love by switching Pierce and JJ - this matchup is particularly bad for DD on offense and defense

Heh, if he is in the D-league still in a few years I will be surprised.

If DD can't take Pierce off the bounce, he is truly lost.
