Biyombo's work ethic and athleticism are insanely appealing. His shot-blocking skills would bring a much needed element to the Raps backcourt. The Raps offer one of the best situations in the league for him with a commitment to youth and development of talent. Add to that a defensive minded coach and you have a recipe that reads very well for him in Toronto. Every media pundit that has talked about him, and they all have, has stated that his defense is 100% NBA-ready.
All that being said, he is a tough call at 5. In most drafts, he is mid-teens. With this year's draft there are so many question marks, that the one that follows with an exclamation point (read: ?!) is bound to find his way into the upper lottery. Bismack definitely fits the bill.
I was digging through my threads looking for something else when I found this little time capsule. Figured I'd give it a bump in case anyone was interested in seeing what we thought of the guy leading into the draft.
It's weird seeing some of these names being discussed and this was only 4.5 years ago. Feels like some of these guys have been in the league forever already
holy crap thank god we didn't make this mistake lol
11/20/16 Lest we forget - The Sacramento Screw Job.
We will not go quietly in the night. We will rage against the dying light. We will study every buzzer beater with intensified might, because somethin with the NBA doesn't smell right.
Biz is one hell of an athlete. With the team playing better, better passes get made, and guys like Biyombo end up finishing more than they fumble.
Hoping Masai can keep him for the MLE.
