  • Starting Rasual Butler: not even pretending you aren't tanking.

From an article on the Wizards:

"The Wizards finally won a game this week, beating a Raptors team so overtly obvious in their tanking that they start Rasual Butler. "

I thought that was funny. But the guy, not being a Raptors fan, doesn't know what our alternatives at small forward are...

One could argue that the "tank" was in as soon as Colangelo elected to not spend the money and opt to sign guys who are lucky to be in the NBA. It depends on the definition of "tank". This team is trying to win games as best they can but have no talent. The players aren't tanking. There is no tanking going on at that level for sure. If the coaches were truly trying to tank then wouldn't Alabi be getting 30 MPG or until he fouls out? Instead he's in d league.

I would not call this a tanking season, rather it is a developing season.

The 'tank' consists in putting the Dwane Casey in a position where starting rasual Butler seems like it makes sense.

rasual starts because it is an empty position for us. in a couple weeks it should be klieza while we hope to trade him off. coming from the wizards whose entire existance is a tank is ridiculous though. if jon wall is your pg you should win more by accident.

Say what you want about Butler atleast he is not collecting Rashard Lewis's salary.

Casey loves his defense, not much more to it than that. All our SF's have fatal flaws/are shitty

Very good point Apollo. I second that.

Would not be so bad if key young players could stay healthy Bargs, Bayless, JJohnson

Bahahahahaha, love the use of Rasual Butler to depict Colangelo's change in mood.

When Eric Gordon gets back New Orleans will have an uptick in wins. The Raptors will pass them and Jersey, landing them in the bottom four. To fall any more than that they're going to either need to call up Alabi and give him starter minutes and get Hoffa on the phone to see if he can handle danger of showing his face in Toronto again.
