Why Toronto: We get George Hill and Paul Millsap, two veteran who can provide instant offensive score on or off the bench. Hill is an instant upgrade over both Calderon and Millsap but he's more suited as a 6th man. Harris has fallen off Jazz favors, perhaps with a change of scenery, he will rejuvenate his career, a possible backup PG when we draft one of Kabongo, Marshall, Wroten or Teague with the Indiana pick next year. Our lineups according to next year is as follows: KMWT = Kabongo or Marshall or Wroten or Teague
PG: KMWT, Harris, Veteran PG (Nate Robinson, Farmar, Udrich, E.House)
    SG: DeRozan, G.Hill, Forbes
SF: 2012 1st round pick (Barnes or Gilchirist), J.Johnson, L.Kleiza
    PF: Bargnani, Millsap, Amundson
C: Valanciunas, A.Gray, FA Veteran C (Mohammad, Camby, Turiaf or McGee)

Why Utah: The prize of their trade is Danny Granger, they are desperately in need at the 3 and 4 position. Hayward has proven to be a starter in this league but he's far from being an allstar. Granger can fill in that hole for him. Ed Davis will be shifted to the starting lineup with a change of scenery. Bayless will thrive under the Jazz system as opposed to the defensive mentality of Dwayne Casey. Barbosa can provide some veteran leadership for Alec Burks, their future SG. Enes Kanter looks like a bust so giving him away along with Millsap for Granger isn't that bad of a trade.

Why Indiana: Paul George is on the rise and he will only get better, Granger's day with the Pacers are close to an end, the Pacers will probably not make the playoff given their current new roster, but they will a few veteran to keep Bird happy, with the new acquisition of Calderon and AK47, they will for sure be at the top when 2013 comes along, they also acquire a possible top 10 pick from the Raptors when 2013 rolls around.

This is a complicated trade. Utah seem to come out winners here.

For Toronto - why would you take up Devin Harris' contract when you have Calderon who is better and an improving Bayless? Paul Millisap is admittedly a good acquisition. But why would you give up your entire roster for someone who is not a franchise player? Even with IND first rounder this looks weak. I would not hand out Calderon and a first rounder unless Indiana offer D.Collison and Paul George.

something like this with picks -

You give Calderon way too much credits, Calderon at the best is a second stringer - third stringer PG on a good playoff team. There is no way Calderon can net us Paul George and Darren Collison, you must be dreaming. Devin Harris when given the right atmosphere and condition is 10x better than Calderon. Bayless is injured, unless he proves to the team that he can score 15+ ppts on a consistent basis, he will always be a backup SG, then again, Bayless is a SG in a PG body.

if he is giving calderon to much credit, you are insulting him. in no reality is he a 3rd string point guard. look what he is doing compared to derek fisher. fisher starts on a great team. look how hard new york had to search for a point guard. i dont think indi is going to trade george at all also.

i give you credit for the amount of work that went into this trade though.

Calderon is a third stringer on a good playoff team? The guy is one of the best pure PG's in the league. It's a shame that a lot of Raptors fans want him gone, because when he does go, all we're gonna do is bitch about how we don't have a pass-first PG.

+1. Everybody said Calderon's numbers would drop when Bosh left, because he was getting assists from 5 ft passes to CB4. Didn't happen. Now Andrea's out and Jose is still something like second in the league in total assists. I seriously cannot understand how he is even getting assists, given the cast he's working with. On top of that, the pace is slowed down. Ironically, only Bargs and Jose seem to have adjusted to a real coach with a real system on both ends of the court. Jose is playing phenomenally well.
