Since it's more and more likely that Amir Johnson gets traded this summer, why not start speculating about some trade options?.. Here's one I would really like. Look at what could be our 10 man rotation without any trades:
Valanciunas/Gray
Bargnani/Davis
Barnes/Johnson
DeRozan/Forbes
Calderon/Bayless
As much as I like Forbes, the weakest position on this roster would clearly be the number 2 spot. We could improve it significantly by trading Amir and Gary to Orlando for JJ Redick and a 2nd round pick.
Why Toronto would do it: JJ Redick is one of the best shooters in this league and he's a true shooting guard. Also, he has playoffs experience. He would bring a lot to the team. Definitely a best overall player than Forbes. By trading Amir Johnson away, it erases the PF logjam and gives Ed Davis and other forwards and centers that deserves to be on the floor more playing opportunities. If possible, getting a 2nd round pick can't be a negative thing.
Why Orlando would do it: By adding Amir and Forbes, Orlando is getting younger, without loosing that much talent. Johnson would bring much needed help inside behind Dwight. As for Forbes, he has a lot of potential as a shooter, plus he can be a really good defender. This team needs to change things a little bit if they want to succeed, anyway.
What do you guys think about that one? Oh, let's see the new roster:
Valanciunas/Gray/Magloire
Bargnani/Davis/Rookie
Barnes/Johnson/Kleiza
DeRozan/Redick/Anderson
Calderon/Bayless/Rookie
