I was checking some numbers today and stumbled across Eddy Curry's current PER. In his effort to earn more playing time, he has produced a PER of -1.8. Yes, he hasn't played much, but why would d'Antoni play him at this rate?
Anyway, it occurred to me, if you stand up a corpse in front of the defensive rim with its arms up like a scarecrow trying to alter an inside shot, and gave it 30 minutes of playing time, wouldn't it record a better PER than -1.8? I'm sure it would block more shots and end up with more boards than most of the Raps players.
