  • MLSE has the option to renew the contract or not so that in legal terms BC is not being fired if the contract is not renewed much like David Kahn whose contract was not renewed recently.

I would like the Raptors to go a different direction.

Agreed. Only extending him one year gets us nowhere. Just fire him now and put us out of our misery.
We have a perfectly acceptable interim GM already in place in Stefanski. I'm pretty sure BC will be let go (or more likely highly encouraged to resign in disgrace, similar to Nixon), and then we have a year to find the real replacement for BC, as well as another year to see if DC can be the guy or not. We'll have tons more flexibility to alter the roster after this year, so it's probably worth it to give the new core a chance before blowing it all up.

      • Is it just me or does this Phil Jackson chase smell just like the Steve Nash sweepstakes? A city crying for legitimacy trying to lure a famous hall of famer to come in, get paid ridiculously...and not do what they got famous for (yeah...steve is still a point guard but you get the point). Just getting that vibe

            • i'm pretty sure we're only gonna hear the news on BC after the Vote for the Kings on Wednesday night. Phil Jackson dismisses job offers right away when he's not interested. So i'm GUESSING he's interested, since he hasn't said no yet but Seattle is still his first choice. Kings move to seattle, BC is extended a year, Kings stay in Sacramento, Phil is president and BC can pack his bags.

You know Wiggins is playing a year of college ball first right? So, in 3 years he will be only 2 years into his rookie deal.

Wouldn't it be awesome to add a layer on top with the Raptors logo in jewels? One can only dream.

                      • Some of you have come up with legitimate reasons to keep BC, but lets be real, his mistakes far, far, far outweigh any of those. The Bosh debacle in itself deserves for him to get fired. How can you let a perennial all-star go in return for nothing?

I don't want to count the trades because that is a comedy in itself; original 2011 pick sent to heat for oneal and company, and then came back to us with a second pick which was sent to chicago, which was then sent back to the heat (norris cole). raptors would have had a high pick anyways regardless of the trades.

                        • LEAFS are done.

Seattle is done for foreseeable future.

                          Phil available?

                          Colangelo decision forthcoming?

                          • DALLAS — The NBA Board of Governors voted Wednesday to keep the Kings in Sacramento and not allow them to move to Seattle, a person with knowledge of the vote told USA TODAY Sports.

The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because the vote had not been made public.

Commissioner David Stern later confirmed the decision and said the relocation vote was 22-8 in favor of Sacramento. The Maloof family that owns the Kings has been wanting to sell the team to a group from Seattle, led by hedge fund manager Chris Hansen and Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, who wanted to move the team to Seattle. But now that their bid has been blocked, Stern said he is hopeful that the Maloofs will finalize a deal with the Sacramento group headed by Indian software magnate Vivek Ranadive.

"We will talk to the Maloofs, and seek in the next 24 to 48 hours whether we can help facilitate an agreement to be signed between the Ranadive group and the Maloofs for the sale of the franchise in Sacramento," Stern said."It is my expectation that we'll be able to make a deal with the Maloofs and the Ranadive group to transfer title of the team in Sacramento. It's not a certainty, but we're going to work on that result."

Said Ranadive: "Our lawyers (the Maloofs and Ranadive groups) have been talking for sometime, and we believe that we can get this done quickly," Ranadive said.

We dont know all his options, but from what is known Seattle was 1st, so that can only help us, whether we were 2nd or 4th only Phil knows.

Working for an owner who just throws an extra 161 million on the pot and working for the maloofs who are broke is not the same so we definitely moved up a spot.
