Good. They killed off Lizzie. Started to get on my nerves.
Kid actors are just awful. Kids on shows just drag everything down. Still, that whole episode was pretty grim....

Why? She was the most interesting character on the show and they killed off a lot of dramatic conflict stretched out in favour of a few minutes of shock value.

      Lame.

She was by far the worst character on the show IMO. She didn't fit into the story or setting at all. It was impossible to develop her in relation to other characters because of such things, and therefor totally useless in what is a character driven drama. It's no surprise they killed her. They should never have put her in the show in the first place. Of course they used a shocking situation for it, since she literally served no purpose or fit at all in any way. Good riddance. I'm just disappointed they had to dedicate a whole episode to the story around it, since they probably felt if they were just going to kill kids in passing as part of a 2 or 3 plotline episode they would get them even more backlash.

The worst character is either Carl or Micchone. Lizzie I admit I didn't really care about, but it would of been interesting to have like Carol attempt to keep her around for a while longer. At least have her kill Carl or someone..

          • I too am glad to see Lizzie gone, but the events that transpired in Sunday's episode were very unexpected haha. But during the episode, I had a premonition that something was going to happen to the girls while the adults were getting water.

What did happen though, was absolutely crazy.
I know this may be a bit controversial but I think the Raptors have proven that they're the best team in the NBA from Canada

I like how they wandered off and left the girls alone after the girls had nearly got themselves killed.

Apparently, there was a similar plotline in the comics where Carl kills some sociopathic kid, so I guess there was the inspiration?

Actually, I would argue that Lizzie's character made far more sense in the context of the world and within the atmosphere of TWD than Michonne (super-ninja-killer-woman) or some of the other characters from past seasons. Her character didn't need to "develop", she was an archtype: the sociopath. How do normal people, in the context of an apocalypse, deal with such a person? How does that person deal with the world? The problem with how it played out was that it would have been far more interesting to have the larger group involved when she did something like kill her sister.

Part of the reason she didn't fit was because she's an archetype. Most archetypes in character dramas end up being villains or anti-heros (alpha male: Shane...nihilistic anarchist: Merle...megalomaniac sociopath: Governor) . Characters that struggle to break free of themselves. Whereas most of the "good guys" are people who show flaws that they acknowledge and wish to change. And because Lizzie's archetype was one of a sociopath (though I might argue it's more straight up psychopath), but she was a child, it left them with very little to actually do with her character. I think in a lot of ways it would've been much better, if like you suggest, they had something happen with her while she was part of the group. Kill her sister....try to kill others while she was quarantined...something. After all, they built up her obvious disorder in the prison, so it would've been fitting to have something unravel there. Again, in the end, I think they trapped themselves because they didn't really have a plan for what to do with such a character and how she would fit into the world they made (revolving around the others survivors), and it didn't help that she was a kid, because they probably weren't sure at first how much they wanted to push her extreme character to the front given that.

Michonne's character is lame because they took far too long to do anything with her apart from super-ninja-killer-woman. Which is stupid, because in that 3rd season they had every opportunity to start developing her beyond that because of her relationship with Andrea and role in the Governor/Woodbury plot. And now it just seems like anything is a desperate attempt to try and make her relevant as something beyond that.

Anyway, glad she's gone. Ended up being totally useless.

**Not sure sociopath is 100% on (I am not at all a psych specialist)...but her character reminded me more of a schizophrenic with psychotic tendencies....

                    • Part of me thinks it would've been very interesting to somehow work the plot into something where Lizzie's sister actually has to end up being the one killing her....

                      • I don't read the comics but doing a bit of reading on the web realized that Lizzie and Mika represented Billy and Ben. Ben killed his brother knowing that he would come back. The group didn't know what to do so let Ben live. Later that night Carl goes ahead and executes Ben anyway.

They could have developed this further but I think this was really Carol's story. The writers wanted to give Carol a bigger story in the show. One way to do that would be for her to be the girls 'mother'. Have her get close to them and watch it fall apart.

Although I appreciate her a little more after last week's episode she's still not someone I'm rooting for.

                        • Wow, not a single post about the pending finale? What is Terminus? That was just a little too easy and way too creepy.

I fear for Glenn and/or Maggie. That whole thing was just a little too perfect and the picture thing has to be foreshadowing a death. Also, Beth has to be there, right?

My guess is cannibals. Just a wild guess though.

I agree with this. Something about the comics + the line "Get yourself comfortable and we'll make you a plate" seems pretty sketchy. And the Barbecue seems like a little foreshadowing.
