  • What would you like to see each Raptor improve on for next season?

Kyle Lowry: Drive and kick game, decision-making, getting back to being more aggressive like he was early on but not freezing out teammates.

Rudy Gay: Shot selection, defensive intensity (he has all the tools to be lockdown if he can just maintain a high effort level).

DeMar DeRozan: Rebounding, corner 3 ball, defensive effort

    Amir Johnson: Nothing really

Jonas Valanciunas: Strength, rebounding, post and helpside defense

Terrence Ross: 3PT shooting, less gambling defensively

Agree will all of this. Would add less fouls for Amir since he is still the king of personal fouls. Would also add ball handling for Ross since he turned it over quite a bit with shoddy ball handling. As for JV, I'd like his sweet post moves he's been showing in international play to transfer over to the NBA season. JV is really going to surprise some people this year (e.g. everyone outside of this forum).

        Consistent defensive effort by DD.

Kyle Lowry: To look for JV in the post and pass him the ball if he's open. Less hero ball when there is more than 15 seconds on the shot clock

Rudy Gay: Do what he did in 2010-2011

DeMar DeRozan: Stepping back one foot and then take the shot. Or drive to the rim

Amir Johnson: Bring more mouth guards

Jonas Valanciunas: Avoid fouling and getting stronger in the post

Terrence Ross: Improve his field goal percentage, defense and handles

Fields: Just convert his layups when on a fast break

Gray: Intimidation (needs to make up for the loss of Kleiza)

Novak: To be able to not change his game just because he's on a new team

Psycho-T: Improve his free throw rate

          Acy: Mid-range game

          Buycks: Running an offense

          DJ: Defense

          Daye: Rebounding

Help D and defensive intensity for each and everyone on this team.
            Demar: Some killer instinct
            Casey: Offensive sets
            No new friends (c)

Jonas: Stickier hands, both catching passes and rebounding.

Rudy: Shot selection and 3pt shooting.

              DeMar: Defense and 3pt shooting.

Ross: Everything, but mostly consistent effort level.

Lowry: Being aggressive and being a facilitator at the same time--to often seems like it's an on-off switch.

Fields: Your damn jump shot. Elbow's gotta be healed up by now.

Acy: Discipline on defense. Effort's there, positioning ain't.

              Gray: Beard.

Kyle Lowry: Passing to bigs, offence awareness (looking in the corners for Novak and (Gay and DD)?)

Rudy Gay: Shot selection, 3 point shooting

DeMar DeRozan: 3-ball, defence, passing (awareness)

Amir Johnson: Nothing, maybe avoiding foul trouble

                Jonas Valanciunas: Strength, D, Manliness

                Terrence Ross: Effort

Fields: Arch on his shot, health

                Gray: His windmill 360 dunks

                Novak: Be himself better

                Psycho-T: tackles

                Acy: become that power 3

                Buycks: strength, running an offense

DJ: Defense, consistency (good rather bad)

Daye: Rebounding, consistency (good rather bad), help D

Casey: Take the first 20-25 games to decide on a 9-man rotation and stick with it, dammit! (bearing any injuries).

Kyle Lowry: Maturity and leadership. He has every tool in the book, maturity will fix ego, leadership will help fix Raptors.

Rudy Gay: Eyesight. KISS rule for shot selection. He is great, he can shake guys down for shots, but sometimes a very simple up fake one dribble, set feet and shoot easy peasey jumper works better, sometimes a simple curl off a screen will do. Other than that, I like this dude.

DeMar DeRozan: See Rudy Gay. Add 2000 three's a day in the gym. Demar with range is VERY terrifying.

Amir Johnson: Physical strength. He's a horse, he needs a better base and core. Aggression offensively. He is there now, but if he turned it up...wow.

Jonas Valanciunas: Stay the course...he's following his training to a "T" so far, so keep at it. His post moves going left on the low block with a seal are emerging, keep pounding those, Hakeem and McHale for visual breakfast, lunch, and summer. Also, stay away from the nasty chicks yo...no outside stresses.

Terrence Ross: Maturity, leadership, confidence and see Rudy Gay and Demar Re: K.I.S.S. rule times 100

I don't mention defence, as they can all play defence. Positivity and cohesion on offence, maturity and focus make playing defence very easy. Defence is mental. Once a guy, becomes, when melded with 4 others as a team, a moving part...it all gets so easy. And that doesnt happen until overall Basketball IQ rises as a team.

Kyle Lowry: Improved playmaking ability, but not too a point where he becomes playmaking point guard. He's at his best when he's scoring.

Rudy Gay: Better shot selection. Saw way too many games where he'd mindlessly dribble inside the 3pt line and jack up a shot in someone's face. NO MORE!

DeMar DeRozan: Defense, playmaking ability. If the increased range isn't happening for him, he has to find another way to attack.

Amir Johnson: Consistent mid-range jumper, more complete offensive game. Everything else is good to go.

Jonas Valanciunas: More post moves in his arsenal. He can only do the pump fake so much.

                      Terrence Ross: Everything.

Kyle Lowry: On offense, pick and roll. He was ineffective doing that, and all the metrics show (from my limited understanding, at least...) that you can't go anywhere without lots of p'n'r. On defense... keep up the intensity but DON'T STAND AND STARE AT THE BALL ALL THE TIME.... gotta keep an eye on your man.

Rudy Gay: I'd like to see some more passing from him. Not just into the post at the start of a possession, but also off the dribble. Hopefully Lowry and Novak can get themselves open and create space for the Gay's and Derozan's of the world.

DeMar DeRozan: Good call on the corner 3. He does a lot of work from that deep wing, so if he's going to hit a 3 it should be there. Also, defensive footwork, and passing instead of blindly trying to get to the line. It's one thing to have somebody out of position and go into them, it's another to crash into the lane and hope to get bailed out by a whistle.

Amir Johnson: Speed up that jumper, my dude!!!! It's getting to be a pretty good weapon for us, but it loads about as fast as a musket.

Jonas Valanciunas: Strength, rebounding, post and helpside defense Agreed on all of this. Don't over-help. Also I'd like to see how his passing/playmaking is at full-NBA speed

Terrence Ross: Just because you want to be a 3-D guy doesn't mean you can't take mid-range shots as well. Wait until you're open and there's rebounders in place before you let it fly. Also, I did see him with some nice interior passes when he drives, I wouldn't mind seeing him run a couple pick-n-rolls as well.

Disagree. Not even teams in the summer league were biting, considering he only made 3 jumpers the whole tournament. Certainly NBA teams will catch on.

Agree. They won't ever go for it if you don't make them pay for being on their heels once in a while.
