  • If we try to convert him into a pg I see him being a Austin rivers doppelgänger. Can shoot but only sometimes plays...

As a sg he looks solid but we kinda have too many sg

If he can however gain some point guards skills he would be the steal of the draft
I'm back. I no longer worship joe johnson

    • Lavine shot the ball really well actually, from NBA-3 in the shooting portion of the combine:

      60% (3-5) Break Left
      40% (2-5) Break Right
      60% (3-5) Corner Left
      80% (4-5) Corner Right
      40% (2-5) Top
      -------------------
      14-25 Overall.

      Damn.

A player dunking when no one is around doesn't impress me. Why couldn't he use that athleticism to be more productive?

To be perfectly fair, a lot of Derozan's workouts were like that. 1 in none, dunking over a chair, posting up pylons, etc.

DeMar was actually productive in college though

Point being, I get what you're saying. Very underwhelming when you workout against no one. Makes me wonder what you have to hide.

Lavine is a point guard. He played out of position at UCLA after playing the point all through high school. Every single NBA scouting report I have seen to date says refers to Lavine as a point guard.

Yup, he's a point guard or at worst a combo guard. Not a shooting guard, he just played off ball at UCLA because they had a ton of other ball-handlers.

                          • I don't know if anyone posted this but this is a list of the past 20th picks since 2000. Helps give an idea of how good a player you can get. Historically the pick seems to be mostly role players and decent bench players. Help temper some expectations. I'll do this for the other picks too!

                            2013 Tony Snell
                            2012 Evan Fournier
                            2011 Donatas Motiejunas
                            2010 James Anderson

All the more reason to trade up or out of the draft. We have enough serviceable back up's. That is, if we are planning to build on last season and not go down the rebuild path again.
