I don't understand your math. If AB is amnestied that would put the Raptors at a little under $54 million in salary with 11 players on board. The salary cap is 58 million this season and likely to be slightly higher next year.

The HoopsHype.com link does not count the player options in that total. They also put in the amount of money Landry makes each year vs. averaging the offer sheet meaning next year is another $1.1M added to the cap total.

HoopsWorld.com is a better salary site - although in the past it was HoopsHype.com

$72.9M with all options picked up.

The numbers on hoopshype take into account all salaries except for Lowry's (the Raptors have a team option). Assuming the Raps pick up his option (and they would be stupid not to), then they would have a payroll of $72M. Remove Bargnani and that is $61M which is still above the salary cap.

Don't amnesty Bargnani. We're still over the cap, and can't improve unless we trade our legitimate talent, which may open another hole in terms of addressing needs.

Use Bargnani as a trade asset, along with Fields/Ross/Derozan/Anderson (preferably keep Demar), and a 1st round pick (if not making playoffs this season), to acquire whatever talent we are trying to fill.

Amnesty Kleiza, so the team can save money and save themselves from passing the line for the punitive luxury tax.

    And than, go from there.

Amnesty makes no sense for Bargnani.

It still leaves the Raptors above the salary cap for next season.

They still have to write a cheque for $23M minus whatever another team bids should he not make it through the waiver wire.

Despite how useless Bargnani is, he can still return a player who at the very least produces - such as Carlos Boozer.

If the amnesty is to be used, it will be on Kleiza, in my opinion.

It doesn't make any sense financially. For the team it would probably be better. Guy is a constant distraction and liability on the floor. I wish we could just tell him to go home ala Lamar Odom from last season and facilitate some sort of trade in the off season. This would probably further hurt his already low trade value. Lets face it if he had any value he would probably be gone.

Well I honestly believe that Bargs didn't had any value before this years trade deadline, that's why he still here ( not like BC says he needed more time ) But on the other hand I'm pretty sure ( if bargs stays healthy ) he'll be traded somewhere if traded at all lol.

Welcome Bro, even though Bargs has the bigger contract he still has some value around the league. Kleiza on the other hand does not and so he will be the one to get amnestied .

    started a topic Amnesty Andrea?

    Amnesty Andrea?

I was just wondering with the Raptors still having the Amnesty provision do you think BC will amnesty Bargs this summer or do you think we might some way be able to trade him?

P.S New to the forums so if this the wrong place to make this I do apologize
